“A member of the blame America, first, last and always crowd are you?”

HELL NO! Those are Fightin’ Words! I am an American patriot. How Dare you call a fellow FReeper such!

All I was saying in my previous post was: Rodents are an everpresent nuisance wherever grain is stored; eradication of them in these areas is virtually impossible. For that reason, our food safety laws acknowledge that a certain amount of rodent fecal matter in our grain products is acceptable. The poison in the gluten was Wafarin (a rat poison) as I understand it. I suspect that either some rodent bait got scooped up with the grain somewhere, or perhaps introduced into the grain by rat feces themselves. This doesn’t have to be an US vs Them issue.

However, the posts about supposed Chinese speeches concerning plans for Bio-Warfare are troubling. Having said that, I seriously doubt that the Chinese would use something as imprecise and ineffective as Rat Poison.

“You’re sounding like a lib. But by a previous post, maybe you are?”

You know that’s kind of tired, and a lot like invoking “Hitler” on the internet. When a freeper is challenged, they throw out the liberal, or socialist tag.

Risk is part of life. Make the risk known, let me assume it if I wish. Put a 2 loaves of bread on the counter. One is $2.50, the other is $1.30. If I choose the $2.50 loaf, I know no one has ever died from that product. If I choose the $1.30 loaf, I know that there is a 1 in 5,000,000 chance it’s tainted and I may get ill or die. Let me make the choice, not someone who’s making money off of my purchase.
Saying the world is imperfect, minimizing the impact of death is typical greed driven rationalization of bankrupt morals.

* You’re sounding like a lib. But by a previous post, maybe you are?

“If we can save just 1....” *

Oh, and another thing. Why is that liberal in this context, but when we talk Terry Schiavo, or abortion, now saving just one is a conservative idea?

You lack consistency.

Everybody sould go on South Beach Diet, or Atkins — no carbs, no gluten! We’ll all be thin and beautiful. It’s a win-win.

Probably tin-foil. It originated with the Epoch Times, a Falun-Gong organization. They have very good reason to want to make China look bad - and China deserves it - but this should be read with an awareness of the motives of the source.

Not buying food from US producers doesn’t change their subsidies. In fact, boycotting local farmers only hurts any attempts at getting those subsidies eliminated for the recipients.

Secondly, know whereof you speak: http://www.askquestions.org/details.php?id=127&gclid=CKGMxJD3v4sCFQS7YAodpD4lTQ
Note that 2/3 of farmers and ranchers are NOT subsidized.

Tell me - how many times have you lobbied your Senators/Reps against farming subsidies for big agribusinesses ie corporate welfare ?

I am waiting to see how long it will take for the dems to start trumpeting that seniors were sickened by this. After all, many have to eat dog food because their meds are so expensive. Or so they tell me every presidential election cycle.

Actually, if you do Atkins (or similar) diet - you are eating simpler, healthier food.

I lost and have kept off a lot of weight using Atkins.

If it makes you feel any better, some CEO somewhere is making a few extra million on his stock options because of cheap stuff from the Chicoms.

I’m also buying food from a neighbor (Fromm). They’ve been making fox & mink food since 1904 and have been making dog food since the 1940s, at least.

They are not Amish, but they have a very good reputation for high grade foods. they have had no recalls.

Shhhh, everybody, we can't upset consumers and endanger profits. That would be bad.

But the freeper mantra is the economy is great, and sending our jobs to China is good for us.

The economy is great, and jobs are not "things" that get "sent".
