I always heard Imus was their highest rated show. I hope so. Watching that ship sink is going to be a pleasure.

Imus In the Morning was the third-highest rated show on MSNBC. But that [still] says a lot given it aired 5:30-9AM ET.

The good news for MSNBC...

This is MSNBC's first chance to create an original morning show.

A lot of people forget this:

• July 15, 1996: MSNBC goes on the air for the first time
  
  
• September 03, 1996 (just six weeks later): Imus In the Morning premieres on MSNBC

Therefore, MSNBC has never had a chance for a "real" morning show like FOX & Friends, etc.

Imus In the Morning was MSNBC's morning show for nearly 11 years.

Even though I strongly disagree with MSNBC's decision on Imus, I wish them well in (hopefully) starting a great, new (watchable) morning show.
