It was just announced on the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" on WFAN (Imus's home base): Imus is out of a job on radio as well.
He will not even be on the air tomorrow.
The line has been drawn now; I better not hear ONE WORD disparaging anybody anymore.
There is a chill in the air...
And they WILL come for us.
On CNN too
CBS cancels Don Imus’ radio show, effective immediately, after uproar over his racist and sexist comments about Rutgers women’s basketball team.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. On the one hand, it’s political correctness run amok. On the other hand, Imus is a scummy rat.
Everyone thought that being a leftist would save him, but it didn’t.
Think they'll get away with that?
The Nappy headed frightened crackers?
Where are all those LEFTIES gonna go every morning to spew their HATRED of Conservatives!!
“Nappy”

He’s going to have to take up with the slutty Hos now; won’t be able to afford the fancy ones.
Ann Coulter is right - we do need a rulebook because clearly there are different rules for libs than there are for Republicans and Christians.
dammit Laz.
Exactly.
And now the piling on will REALLY begin.
Gives them the chance to go after a conservative next. Talk radio is on the radar. They’ve had this one locked and loaded for some time I bet just waiting for the victim to show in the open for a second.
This might just WAKE up the silent majority!
Ciao pescado!!!!
One less goof to badmouth President Bush.
I'm not a huge fan of Don Imus, but here's my input on this . . . I'll be boycotting every advertiser on the CBS radio network from this day forward.
Step 1 for me (in the NYC area) is to permanently banish WFAN (660 AM) and WCBS (880 AM) from my pre-sets in the car.
If anyone has a list of all CBS affiliates by market area, I'll do the same on the FM dial.

CBS TO CEASE BROADCASTING IMUS IN THE MORNING
CBS today announced its decision to cease broadcasting the Imus in the
Morning radio program, effective immediately, on a permanent basis.
“From the outset, I believe all of us have been deeply upset and
revulsed by the statements that were made on our air about the young
women who represented Rutgers University in the NCAA Women’s Basketball
Championship with such class, energy and talent,” said CBS President and
Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves, in announcing the decision.
“Those who have spoken with us the last few days represent people of
goodwill from all segments of our society - all races, economic groups,
men and women alike. In our meetings with concerned groups, there has
been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young
people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in
this society. That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds
as we made our decision, as have the many emails, phone calls and
personal discussions we have had with our colleagues across the CBS
Corporation and our many other constituencies.”
Imus in the Morning was carried on 61 stations across the United States
and distributed over the Westwood One radio network. The cancellation of
the program comes after statements Mr. Imus made about the young women
who comprised the Rutgers University Women’s Basketball team, which
reached the finals of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship this
spring.
Moonves concluded: “I want to thank all those who came to see us to
express their views. We are now presented with a significant opportunity
to expand on our record on issues of diversity, race and gender. We
intend to seize that opportunity as we move forward together.”

No tears for Imus, but where are all his liberal friends to come to his defense?
Can’t even begin to count all the Democrat politicos he supported over the years.
Wow, that looks like a really cool show.
Where can I get it in New York?
Satellite, I bet.
Another nail in CBS’s coffin, though. Maybe they can hire Rosie to carry the ball for them.
