CNN’s Nancy Grace had these guys drawn and quartered.

Much of the media during the early days did that. Even after some of the Nifong shenanigans came to light, the MSM still were on her side. After Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton stuck their noses in it, it even got worse.

A few talk radio hosts began to see through the smoke and mirrors and got the idea that the players were being falsely accused when the time lines kept changing, when the accuser's story kept changing, when the prosecutor's evidence didn't add up, when the revelation was made that both the lab and Nifong hid DNA results. Had it not been for the continued efforts of a few media persons to get to the truth, the players would have been tried, convicted and forgotten.

When the one player had proof (cell phone, ATM receipt and video, etc.) that he was not even at the house when the supposed assault took place, Nifong ignored that, but that raised concern for several media persons who continued to persue the truth.
