HER name is Crystal Gail Man gum. She is the woman who falsely accused three Duke University students of rape. Yesterday, the attorney general of North Carolina came forward and flatly declared the three young men "innocent of these charges." That means their accuser is a liar. Her name is Crystal Gail Mangum. It is the policy of the news media not to publish the names of rape accusers on the grounds that they should not have to fear public shame for coming forward with word of a horrifying personal violation. That is a noble policy. But it needs a codicil. The codicil is that if a rape accuser is revealed as a liar, her name should be spoken loudly and often - as loudly and often as the names of those whom she falsely accused have been over the past year. Her name is Crystal Gail Mangum. She must be denied anonymity because she makes a mockery of the very policy of granting anonymity to rape accusers. We do not publish their names so that they will not fear public exposure. But people who are tempted to do the monstrous thing Mangum did should fear public exposure.

I got the idea from listening to the parents’ interviews (Seligmann and Finnerty) last night that neither boy will be returning to Duke. I completely understand, but how tragic that their college experiences were so unjustly ruined. All three are such fine young men. This story still makes me so angry. I almosst lost it when Evans was speaking about Coach Pressler.
Again, thanks for directling me to the Freep threads on the Duke hoax. This story isn’t over yet.
I just heard a black woman from detroit on the radio, and she had the gall to say that the duke boys will get over it, but the rutgers girls are traumatized for life!!!!!
Do you think she’s going to sit back and listen to people insinuate she’s crazy? Now that her name and picture are out, she’s basically ruined; she will have to tell her “side.”

The mood down here is hypocritical; all the people that trashed the Duke players are trying to “get right with God” now that they’ve been proven not just wrong, but prejudicially wrong.

Thanks Howlin. The locals and the blogs are going to have to keep the rest of us in the loop. I have a feeling that this story is going to drop off the MSM radar very soon. They have to make way for the Imus saga.
Gosh, it incenses me to see those two race hustlers, Jackson and Sharpton, going after Imus for that dumb remark, while ignoring the genuine pain and terror that these Duke players and their families have endured for the last year — all because of lies by their — what did the New Black Panthers call her? — Sister Queen?
Sharpton’s on now — “ we are not about tearing down Imus, but about lifting up young people” — More lies! The Duke Lacrosse players certainly weren’t lifted up by the Al Sharptons of the world.

I just hope the boys and their families are compensated very well for this horrible ordeal.
To prevent her from profiting, David, Collin, and Reade should sue her for the harm she caused them and in addition for further tarnishing their reputations by claiming they wanted to have sex with someone such as her.
What is going to harm her case is that the Attorney General refused to press charges against her. That was wrong since she has victimized three innocent persons and their families.

She had the DNA of five other men inside her. She lied about the whole "rape" thing and you say not to judge her too harshly? You just gotta be a dim plant.
