Duke University officials, from the campus police to the highest administrative levels, failed to grasp the seriousness of an accusation that white lacrosse players raped a black woman at a party in March and did not respond quickly enough, said an outside report released yesterday. The report, by William G. Bowen, a former president of Princeton University, and Julius Chambers, a former director of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund Inc., cited "a gap in communications that is extraordinary," noting that the Duke police force had failed to alert administration officials to the racial component of the case.

Duke University administrators grasped with unseemly alacrity the lies that they wished to grasp, and they will apologize the day before hell freezes over.
Being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry.
There, I fixed it.
Even after the fact, the New York Slimes can't get it right.
This is classic CYA from the officials at Duke. What parent in their right mind who hand over their kid and fork over the outrageous tuition to have these people guide their child for four years?
The NYT is nothing more than a PR firm for liberal losers.

Unbelievable! The story is not that four white guys were railroaded and falsely prosecuted in a race baiting scam. The story is that Duke is racially insensitive.
You DID notice that this story is from a year ago?
So the 'racial component' made it more serious?
Are they saying that black on white rape is commonplace and a white on black rape is news?
Ok, I am no lawyer, but we have some very intelligent and informed people on the Freep (some of them might even be lawyers), and I want to know if the 3 who were accused have any chance of filing civil law suits against:the woman who made the accusations; (2)Nifong;(3)the Gang of 88; and/or (4)the University. Defamation of character, filing false police reports, slander, hell, anything.
Yes/No? Anyone?
There is going to be multi-million dollar civil suits flying all over the place. Nifong, numerous other parties, and the university are going to get hammered as they so richly deserve. All are going to quickly try to reach some quiet settlement claiming it “would be in the best interest of all parties”, but if I was the accused, I would be unleashing hell on all of them. No matter how much damage is done, the one thing I hope is that this is the start of a major backlash against the culture of “hate crime” legislation and reverse discrimination against whites that created this entire mess.
THe only thing I feel sorry for are the students who are going to watch their dream of going to Duke and tuition shoot through the roof as the University has to pay all the damages. But they can always bite the bullet and go somewhere else.
I hope the Duke88 are driven into the hills never to be heard from again. But the fake indian proved how hard it is to drive these liberal lunatics from their jobs as professors at these schools.
university males were castrated a long time ago.
males go with feminists or they don’t get tenure, etc.
Oddly enough, a page on the Department of African African American Studies at Duke (http://www.duke.edu/web/africanameric/supporters.pdf) containing the list was deleted.
Seems to me they responded too soon.
I hope these kids should sue the school and the stooges who signed that libel they published.
Oh this could be delicious!
Even cold.
I kept coming up against that myself in my search.
According to the NAACP, Duke should have moved more quickly to ruin these young men’s lives.
What does that mean, anyway - 'Women's Studies'? Imagine a 'Men's Studies' class. And isn't it gender biased, non-inclusive, and whatever other terms are used to describe others doing this?
