Ok, I am no lawyer, but we have some very intelligent and informed people on the Freep (some of them might even be lawyers), and I want to know if the 3 who were accused have any chance of filing civil law suits against:the woman who made the accusations; (2)Nifong;(3)the Gang of 88; and/or (4)the University. Defamation of character, filing false police reports, slander, hell, anything.

Yes — you would have a good defamation case against the so-called victim. But as bad an actor as Nifong is, the immunity bar you would have to overcome to sue him under sec. 1983 for violating their civil rights is VERY high and will be difficult to overcome.But I’d take the case in a heartbeat.
