Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has become the only presidential hopeful from either party so far to say radio host Don Imus should be fired over racial slurs. Obama Wednesday told ABC News he thought Imus should be fired and that he would never appear on the shock jock's show again.
Imus faces a two-week suspension from his CBS Radio-MSNBC show following a firestorm over his characterization of the Rutgers University women's basketball team as "nappy-headed ho's." Imus has apologized for the insult.
Obama told ABC if anyone on his own staff made a remark like that -- "about anybody of any ethnic group" -- that person would no longer work for him.
Obama said Imus' remarks fed "some of the worst stereotypes" his own daughters face in America. Obama called the comments "degrading."
Imus has lost major sponsors including American Express, General Motors Corp. and Procter & Gamble Co.
At what temperature? What is it anyway? Never heard of one.
Sounds like a kind of virus. Maybe it's a geographic location. Oh well, whatever an Imus is, I am sure it must be important, you know, now that a real honest congressman has said something about it. I believe everything those congressmen say.
Whatever it is.
If I were a politician I would refuse to answer. Who cares what Obama thinks, or any other political leader? The issue has nothing to do with government. Why do we look upon our politicians as soem sort of high priesthood, that must have an opinion on absolutely everything? Is it possible to discuss a topic in America without the left bringing politics into it?
I think the question here is whether a candidate for public office should try to influence the conduct of private business. If he believes he should, this is a man I want no where near the presidency.
23 and 24 in total agreement seconds apart.
Great minds!
Well Sharpton knows how things work. He simply said that if anyone brought it up he would bring up Chappaquiddick and the everyone elses skeletons.
The worst part is that the media abode by Sharptons rule so as to not embarrass the other Dems.
Could you imagine if McCain said "Don't bring up the Keating 5 or I will talk about Bush's DWI". The media would be falling over each other to get out the news of McClain's dealings.
Talk about laying a mind-field for his staff! In Obama's world it'll be a speech-free zone, not free-speech one.
I’ll make one comment and then run for my life. He’s making hillary look good.
I didn’t mean it I didn’t mean it.
That'll never happen. It's like the muslim thing - they like having all the power over their women.
I noticed a typo in the graphic, should the positioning statement not have read “Eats A Better Breakfast?”
Did Aunt Jemima and Andrew Jackson get jiggy, and is the “reverend” Sharpton a result?
I’m curious by nature, and just posing questions.
“Don Imus should be fired”
I have to agree , I am sick of ever having to see or hear from that worthless slug ( Imus)
"It's two a.m. in the morning and it uhh..
Light showers and you're probably hookin up with that girl
That's been, two-wayin you all week. her baby daddy's out
Of town so uhh, you can f#*k around. it's okay to check in
That motel 6. $59.95, not a cent more, for that dirty-ass ho.
Yeah. stop by that convenience store and pick up them rubbers -
Magnum i hope. this is phazon love and uhh, i love hoes.
I just don't pay 'em!"
"Cut up! know we like that, get that cut up
Freaky thangs, we be bout 'em
Get that cut up! oh-whooooooo, cut up
Freaky thangs, we be bout 'em"
Ludacris - Word of Mouf
(Warning: The rest of the lyrics are, more blatantly, XXX)
Ludacris has about six albums worth of songs like this.
Probably 10% are about drugs and/or violence instead of just hoes. It's obvious how much he "loves" black women.
