Praise be to God we have a President who stands so strongly against stem cell research.

Just think how far along the killing of babies would have advanced in these past years if we had had a Gore or Kerry as leader (God forbid).

Yup, he might break out veto #2. Let's hope he figures out that he's got unlimited vetos, and can use them for important things too.

FORTUNATELY that is 4 votes SHORT of what they need to override the President.

2nd vote is Republican alternative, S.30, allowing research on adult stem cells, but not embryos. Text of bill is here: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:S.30:

Only 3 votes short. Sen. Johnson, SD, is recovering from brain surgery.

Praise be to God we have a President who stands so strongly against stem cell research.

That should be (Federal funding for) EMBRYONIC stem cell research.

Diluting the precise nature of his policy gives the Left a huge victory in the debate.

And he doesn't stand so strongly against it as much as refuses to allow federal tax dollars to be used for that purpose *if* the embryonic stem cell line is not pre-existing.

The later exception weakens the overall argument.

RE: Harris, I think she could have/would have easily kept her seat in the House, had she not attempted a Senate run... and would have served the people well in that seat... No one is "entitled" to a U.S. Senate seat, personally I did NOT support her in the Primary, but I did vote for her in the General unlike a lot of my FRiends who did not/would not/could not vote for her.. even in the General.. again she should have kept her House seat.. just my 2cents
