If this passes I am sure the President will appropriately VETO
Just think how far along the killing of babies would have advanced in these past years if we had had a Gore or Kerry as leader (God forbid).
I was trying to count the NO’s but I lost count.. I hear a lot of AYE’s not sounding good...
MR Nelson of FLORIDA - AYE ... no shock there but a sad day for Florida ..
Yup, he might break out veto #2. Let's hope he figures out that he's got unlimited vetos, and can use them for important things too.
63 U.S. Senators with blood on their hands.
Can someone fill me in on this 2nd vote.... ??? I missed the debate so I am not sure what is going on here..
President Bush will veto it...
Reid and Clinton ... NO ... interesting.
2nd vote is Republican alternative, S.30, allowing research on adult stem cells, but not embryos. Text of bill is here: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:S.30:
Only 3 votes short. Sen. Johnson, SD, is recovering from brain surgery.
OK GOT IT.. thanks.. explains why the ones who want to kill more babies are opposed to alternative research which does not END human life... I GOT IT....
70 VOTES for the bill that does not promote the ending of Human Life...
a sadder day was when the fl repubs didnt support harris
That should be (Federal funding for) EMBRYONIC stem cell research.
Diluting the precise nature of his policy gives the Left a huge victory in the debate.
And he doesn't stand so strongly against it as much as refuses to allow federal tax dollars to be used for that purpose *if* the embryonic stem cell line is not pre-existing.
The later exception weakens the overall argument.
RE: Harris, I think she could have/would have easily kept her seat in the House, had she not attempted a Senate run... and would have served the people well in that seat... No one is "entitled" to a U.S. Senate seat, personally I did NOT support her in the Primary, but I did vote for her in the General unlike a lot of my FRiends who did not/would not/could not vote for her.. even in the General.. again she should have kept her House seat.. just my 2cents
