The Republican Party Owes Bill Clinton a Great Big Public Apology--(Mike Huckabee),,,,

Posted on 04/11/2007 12:55:02 PM PDT by stockstrader

When are many of us (including me) going to issue our GREAT BIG PUBLIC APOLOGY to Bill Clinton--as Mike Huckabee has suggested last Sunday--if the Republican Party nominates someone who’s personal life is an absolute TRAIN WRECK, like Rudy Guiliani’s?

When Bill Clinton was repeatedly slammed by many conservatives like myself, the Clinton sycophants loudly and repeatedly voiced their approved pathetic ‘talking points’ for the ‘Clinton Defense’, which included:
(1) What he does with his personal life in meaningless--as long as he’s doing a good job,
(2) I could care less about his personal life—as long as the economy is good,
(3) His personal life is only between him and his wife,
(4) No one is perfect,
(5) Etc. etc. etc. (you Rudy apologists can fill in a few more).

It’s the ultimate in hypocrisy that many of the JulieAnnie Apologists are now using the very same CLINTON DEFENSE for Rudy.
My, my---how we have ‘progressed’!

“Judge his character by his JOB PERFORMANCE”, they say, just like the Clinton Apologists did. Wow, it’s a Clinton Redux all over again.

Even JulieAnnie has used that very same Clinton Defense—not surprising actually--since he, too, is a Clinton apologist and benefits more than anyone else from the ‘CLINTON VACCINE’ (conduct and behavior no longer matter). Rudy owes Bill Clinton big time! No wonder he was such a staunch defender of Clinton after the Chris Wallace meltdown interview.

But the really sad and pathetic part is this. This time, the Clinton Defense comes from so-called conservatives in defense of a liberal.

I was always one of those who stated the Clinton should have been removed from office solely based on his conduct and behavior. Many of us (including me) took the obviously outmoded and now totally discredited positions that,
“CHARACTER MATTERS”,,,,,
”THE PRESIDENT SETS THE STANDARD”,,,,,
”CONDUCT MATTERS”,,,
”THE PRESIDENT SETS THE EXAMPLE”,,,,
”BEHAVIOR IS IMPORTANT”,,,
”PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY STARTS AT THE TOP”,,,,,,yada, yada, yada.

But now the Republican Party (and many so-called conservatives) are about to agree with Bill Clinton—that none of those boring, old-fashioned, untrendy, outdated, and unfashionable behavior traits matter anymore. Conduct no longer matters. Period. End of story. Are we make progress to the ‘left’,,,,or what??? /s

Since the Republican Party could conceivably nominate a man who (in addition to opposing many of its major issues and most of its core principles and values)—almost makes Bill Clinton look like a good, decent family man and caring/loving husband (if that is even possible),,,,,

when are we going to do what Mike Huckabee just suggested a few days ago,,,,,,

and give that BIG, PUBLIC APOLOGY TO BILL CLINTON???

RG hasn’t been nominated yet. But if he is, well, then Huckabee has a solid point.

You know, I posted the other day about this pre-primary season as being a bad thing, but with Newt blowing himself up in the global warming debate and Huckabee with this crapola, I’m thinking it’s not so bad after all.

Tell the libs to go and pound sand. Stop apologizing to these people - it only emboldens them.

even if you say its all about sex and a candidates personal life...Guliani is in the range of normal and Bill Clinton isnt ... Any CEO would have been tossed for having sex in the office with a 20 year old

Small point but clinton was impeached for lying in a grand jury. Clinton caused his own problems!

If Rudy is the candidate, I’m staying home...but I don’t recall Rudy lying under oath and on TV to the American people while shaking his finger....maybe I just missed it.

Clinton is a dirtbag and a serial sexual harasser who retaliated against women who said “no” or went public. He lied under oath. For what do I need to apologize to him?

Same here. The only good to come of it is there'll be more train wrecks to see.

Call me when Rudy rapes someone or lies to a grand jury and obstructs justice.

Does Mike understand the importance of being caught lying under oath?

Let's start a list of Presidents and Presidential candidates who had affairs while in office.

1. John F. Kennedy

2. Bill Clinton

3. Rudi Guiliani

4.

When did Giuli rape anyone? When did Giuli seduce a 21 year old employee of his office? When di Giuli use his office as a “no-tell motel”? When did Giuli commit perjury and obstruction of justice?

Agreed, many of the religious right went further but they are the only ones that need to ‘splain. Don’t dump this all on conservatives or the GOP.

Good job being a JulieAnnie apologist. Many of us felt that Slick should have been removed for his CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR BEFORE it got to that point.

As an apologist for JulieAnnie--I see 'intern material' here...lol

When it comes to Clinton, besides the long list of dead confidants of the Clintons, but do not forget the big one -— CHINAGATE. Billy should be in the Gray Bar Hotel for that one. No, Billy deserves no apology for anything. If anyone should apologize it is the moron voters that put that criminal reprobate in the Oval Office.

Is Huckabee pipe dreaming?
Personal life is one thing. If
Clinton’s WIFE doesn’t care
which gal her husband is doing any
given moment, I sure don’t care.
But I DO CARE about his showing
total disrespect for the Oval Office!
Huckabee CAN’T dismiss Willy using
that room as his and Monica’s private
boudoir!
