Just saw Bill Hemmer with Neil show a preview.
Thompson said he was diagnosed with the "good" type of lymphoma a few years ago and wanted to get the info out sooner rather than later. Neil surmised that Thompson also wanted to gauge the response of the people.
HA! I’ve been saying they had two children, and people kept arguing with me. :)
Please send a message to Fred. I understand these messages actually do get monitored and passed on.

I wrote that his type of cancer has no effect on my family’s sentiments to support him for President.
I also write that after his Cavuto interview that we are now more than ever convinced he is the man for the times and for the country.
RUN FRED RUN!!!
I will and I have:) Thanks for the address.
I said about the same as you. I also mentioned that although I will not be his biggest contributer in money, but I will support him with my time working for his election.
I see, since I personally don't get to examine Sen. Thompson, I do not get to commment. If Sen. Thompson, or his doctors do not release all the hard data to which you refer, then we must instead look at what we do know, which is that he has been diagnosed with NHL. The overall 10 year survival for patients diagnosed with NHL is around 38%.
NHL prognosis is based on risk factors. We don't know which risk category Fred Thompson is in. We do know he has one risk factor, which is age >60. Are there extranodal sites? Is the LDH higher than normal? We don't know. If he has one more risk factor he would be in the Low-intermediate risk category, which has reduced survival.
So, sorry for bringing all this up. I like Fred Thompson, I wish him the best, I am sorry he has this disease, but it affects his potential candidacy for the Presidency and we need to consider the medical facts as they are.
I watched the interview with Cavuto. He has a 4 month old.
I never said that.
According to Thompson, there are 35 types of lymphoma and he has a relatively better one.
I didn't hear him say he was diagnosed with NHL. Was Thompson diagnosed with that the particular type of lymphoma?
Let’s see the facts on prostate cancer and skin cancer, now.
Extended tours for the troops is no new thing. I served in the ‘70s/’80s in Germany and was extended. No biggie. It happens.
The difference is that unlike Tsongas, Fred’s is a less dangerous form according to the experts. The one I saw this morning said that Fred could carry on a normal life with Lymphoma.
I think Fred did this on purpose so that it was disclosed, the sharks would go into a frenzy, then the frenzy would clear, and he could announce. It shows that he is very seriously thinking about running. Run, please, run!
“thompson/gingrich 2008?”
Interesting.
I never did think highly of men who marry women thirty years their junior and father children at an age when most men are grandfather's several times over. It's too Hollyweird for me.
I am 47 and just had my first seven months ago. My wife and I waited 12 long years and had just about given up. She’s now approaching 42. We had no fancy procedures, no fertility treatments, just blessed that this little boy came along.
We talked a couple of times that I could be his grandfather but it all gets lost in the joy of watching him grow. Besides her mother is like a supernanny to him. We couldn’t be more blessed.
Our little boy has a first cousin also a boy that is only 10 months older than he. They will be like brothers. So when I am gone or faded, he will have close family to connect to. I am not at all worried, I will give him a good base.
Anyways, the Thompson’s small children will be 11 and 14 when he completes his 2nd term. That means America gets to watch these small children grow up. That has got to be a blessing for the Country! It means joy will permeate the White House!
His wife is about 15 years his junior.
Congratulations to you both! : )
“That means America gets to watch these small children grow up. That has got to be a blessing for the Country! It means joy will permeate the White House!”
A nice bonus.
Fred is not toast. Boy, you sure do jump to conclusions quickly. Sure the Clintons can dredge up some “experts” to talk about the debilitating effects, but the one thing they can’t do is say that it has done so to Fred. He has been very active since this surfaced. Fred came out with this to headoff the naysayers. It is why there have been experts talking about how he can have a normal life with this. Not all cancers are the same. And his is very manageable/treatable.
It’ll be fun to watch little kids in the WH.
WASHINGTON -- Potential presidential candidate Fred Thompson, known to millions of "Law & Order" viewers as a gruff district attorney, revealed he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of cancer, nearly three years ago...
Lets see the facts on prostate cancer and skin cancer, now.
As you wish. Survival for prostate cancer is much higher than NHL. Melanoma, such as McCain had, has favorable survival.
