On that, I can tell you as a now 19 year survivor, you’re wrong on that. I’ve not had a recurrance in that 19 years.
Let’s hope Fred is well.
I’m supporting Duncan Hunter, but feel that if Fred does get in the race, it sucks the air out of all the other candidacies.
It could be that he’s announcing this so that he can back out. I hope that’s not the case, because it would be good to see an energetic contest.

Yes, it can be. But, as I’m here and breathing and cancer-free, I can say, it is treatable.
I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma in 1986. I was finally released from the hospital in 1987 after 14 months of treatment.
I’ve not had any recurrances.
Paul
That is wonderful. I hope Fred does as well.
Do you know, is your experience typical? And were you as old as Fred at diagnosis?
The Republican Mario Cuomo.
and you can bet I will...more than once.
By the way Mia T, this might be an "alternative theory" but it is sure nothing new to FR.
It sounds like you didn’t have the indolent form. The more aggressive form can be cured.
The indolent form can be cured only if it is caught early enough. But that is almost always not the case, as there are usually no symptoms until the disease is stage IV.
“We love your insight.”
Who is we?
I wouldn’t be surprised if others thought of it. ;)
Don’t forget that Fred is meeting with scores of congress pubs on April 18 in D.C. Only a fool would pull a Perot and than stand before so many pubbies.
McCain is not broadly hated. His net positive/negatives both within the republican party, and with the overall public, is better than all but Rudy.
A core conservative group hates him. But that seems to be a group that also almost universally hates Rudy (I use hate as a shorthand). Would that core group pick Rudy over McCain? Hard to say. There are so few things McCain is hated for that Rudy doesn’t fully support.
I’m not selling McCain, but he’s actually a pretty popular figure for some reason. Gingrich, now there was a hated figure (and that was before he sold out our party to the environmentalists).
Wouldn’t it great if he did...Cinco de Mayo, the day Fred vowed to close the border!!!!
It is not the same for everyone, and I pray that Fred's outcome is like yours, I'm just telling people, don't be lulled into thinking this disease is always manageable. I rode that coaster all the way to it's ugly conclusion.
One would assume he wouldn't ... he wouldn't and doesn't have to.
This is a preemptive release, IMO. He'll monitor the landscape and lay of the land with his many supporters and advisors and go from there.
God bless you with another 30 years, Fred!
fyi
McCain is disliked by conservatives of all stripes for having flushed the first amendment down the toilet just when we need it most: at election time.
I was given a 45% chance of survival.
I was 16.
It was 20 years ago.
They’ve made a LOT of advancements in treatments since then. My survival helped advance their cause.
Paul
;)
You make a good point. I’m not sure he would actually have to be on the ticket, tho. Hmmmm.
That is truly wonderful. So happy for you.
But I think the indolent form is very different from the aggressive forms of the disease.
Yes, some are. So? Your post requires that there be many more conservatives supporting Giluliani than McCain. I see no evidence of that.
