...As Natalie Angier, The Timess biology expert, noted, research has shown that women differed from men in the importance they accorded a mans physical appearance, with many expressing a comparatively greater likelihood of being aroused by evidence of talent or intelligence say, while watching a man deliver a great speech.
This could explain why many Republican women are so frustrated. They have been deprived of the bristly excitement of hearing their men on the stump delivering great speeches for quite some time now.
The Daddy Party, sick with desire for a daddy, is like a lost child. John McCain, handcuffed to the Surge, announced yesterday he has the support of Henry Kissinger. Why not just drink poison? As the Boston Globe columnist Joan Vennochi slyly said, Leave it to Mitt Romney to shoot himself in the foot with a gun he doesnt own.
...That feat of strength led to the hilarious spectacle of Terry McAuliffe, who had been using the Bush-Cheney line of youre-with-us-or-agin-us to try to bully Democratic fat cats into giving solely to Hillary, telling ABCs Jake Tapper: Ultimately, forget the money. Youve got to get the votes. And right now, Hillary wins in that category.
Like the panic in the Daddy Party, the crazed sputtering in the once-dominant Mommy Camp is something to behold.

Another fascinating insight into the disordered personality of Maureen Dowd. What a sad woman.
Waiting for the obligatory pictures of Catherine Zeta Jones....
Funny like the crazy old lady in town with eighty cats, who wears sweaters in August and chases you with a rake if you step on her lawn.
Come to think of it, that lady in my town was really really funny, if you were fast enough to outrun the rake.

Maureen wishes this were true. All available evidence shows this to be not true. Maureen's "mommy party" is gonna get us all massively post-birth aborted.
I admit, these lines are funny. It's sad that we have candidates who set themselves up for genuinely funny comments by MoDo and her ilk ...
Wickedly funny? In the small excerpt she’s all over the place in a scatter-shot manner.
How Basic, Maureen Dowd, has reduced politcal parties to the Mommy and Daddy Parties. Maureen Dawd is under the illusion that Republican women are frustrated with Republican men, because they are not showing evidence of talent or intelligence. Delusional Dowd , is really just wishing that the Democratic party had a Daddy.
Repubs are not missing a 'daddy'. . .we are not the Daddy Party. That is the Demrat Party, Ms. Dowd'. . .ever wanting a 'Daddy'. . .and not caring about gender; is happy for it's embodiment in the 'nanny state'.
Take the blindfold off, Maureen; or just open your eyes. Repubs do not want or need a 'daddy' or a nanny. We DO want and respect REAL men; who demonstrate authentic Leadership. And yes, we are sorely missing both in current candidates.
So. . .an elephant's ear for Ms. Dowd; but no elephant. . .
Nothing wrong with MoDow that a good old fashioned, over the knee spanking won’t cure.
I don't buy into her characterization, but I will say this: I watch certain democrats and try to figure out what makes them tick and forms their world-view (for example, Howard Dean) and conclude:
"This is someone who grew up hating their father."
The only reason to visit a MoDo thread.
EXACTLY right. I have thought that many times myself. These people grew up hating their fathers. Which raises an interesting question: Was Hillary’s dad a Republican?
Hate is a huge factor for Demrats and Leftist's et al. As for Father's, wonder if Maureen knew hers. . .or if she carries 'Daddy-resentment'. . .
No barf alert? You lured me in and blinded me, LOL! What a bitter loser of a woman.
Think I read that Hillary grew up in a 'Republican home'. But then; Hillary told us she was named for 'Sir Edmund Hillary'. Sooooooooooo. . .has to be a grain of salt consideration, in whatever history she offers.
Hilary’s father was a successful, Republican physician. She was a “Goldwater Girl” in the 1964 election.
