Rudy Giuliani has a lot to learn about campaigning outside of New York City.
The former New York mayor attended a roundtable discussion with heavy-hitters at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City recently. Two of the three co-hosts were natural gas billionaires who are CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.
Mayor Giuliani was doing fine until one CEO asked him what his energy policy was, a participant said. He gave a very detailed and lengthy answer covering every energy source imaginable, but he never once uttered the words natural gas. Considering where he was, who he was talking to, and who was sponsoring the fundraiser, it was very insulting and showed a lack of preparation.
Another participant started to ask a question about Iraq.
In the middle of the question, Mayor Giulianis personal cell phone rang, and he answered it, the participant said. At first, I think people thought he was kidding. But then he just started talking; and without looking up or saying anything to us, he just got up, left the room, and never came back! Everyone waited about 20 minutes, and then the room started to break up. It was bizarre behavior.
A Giuliani spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
Is that Johnny Damon?
You’re definitely on to something there. If this is true or not, the south will reject Rudy, the Midwest would be lukewarm, evangelicals will flee in droves. A year from now Rudy will be off the radar.
Rudy isn’t even REMOTELY a conservative. He will push the same agenda Hillary will and without Congressional Republican opposition, he’ll get a lot more of that agenda enacted.
“(Please, don`t make yourself look bad, there is a huge difference and you know that)”
There is not. Rudy Guiliani holds the Constitution in CONTEMPT. He is actually to the left of many on the Democrat side.
Those who “WE” (if you mean conservatives) must defeat INCLUDES Rudy.
And, I’m afraid we have not even begun to see all the skeletons in his “New York” closet.

ROTFL: Did you two work in tandem on that!
he is really shooting himself in the foot here...I’m hopeful that Fred Thompson or Newt will be the man that we need.
I’m not a Rudy supporter and I don’t know if the story you posted is true although I do believe there are people who will believe it just because it was posted.
On a side note, I also think the remarks about Rudy being a “cross dresser”, and the picture being posted ad nauseum, is ridiculous. I dressed up as a scarecrow once but that doesn’t mean I’m a closet scarecrow dresser. Come on, people, let’s get real about what’s important and what is not.
LOL! I didn’t even notice that. :)
“I dressed up as a scarecrow once but that doesnt mean Im a closet scarecrow dresser.”
If you dressed up as a scarecrow three times, would it be normal for an outside observer to think you enjoyed dressing up as a scarecrow???
I suppose if I dressed up as a scarecrow just because I was in the mood, yes. LOL However, as I'm sure you know, that was not the case with Guiliani when he was ACTING in skits. Ten years ago he was in a Saturday Night Live skit and played the part of an Italian American Grandmother. Using your mentality, one could infer that Guiliani is also a closet-grandmother. A person would have to have absolutely no sense of humor and/or an ulterior motive in trying to convince people that because someone played a part in some skits, they must be that character in real life.
There are plenty of arguments to be made as to why Guiliani may not be the best candidate for President without resorting to DU-like tactics.
Oh, there are many reasons he’d be bad. But he’s the one who dressed up like a woman three times. No one forced him to do it.
And it shouldn’t be surprising when people call that odd behavior odd. At the very least, it’s good for a laugh.
The behavior is only odd to those who refuse to accept the facts about those three events. No one forced him to take part in it, but the only reason I can think of as to why he wouldn’t take part in the charity events, and the skit on Saturday Night Live (that I’m sure was written by the writer’s of SNL), would be a concern that some idiot out there might try to make a big deal out of it. If I had been in his shoes at the time, and even thought that it might look bad (which it didn’t) I would have said, “screw ‘em if they can’t take a joke”.
One time may be a joke.
The second time may be a reference to the first joke.
The third time...it becomes “gee, how many times is he going to do this???”
I think the Judi Nathan romance was a strictly personal attraction, not a result of any hubris or actual greatness on Rudy’s part. He was possibly fatally ill, his wife had no sympathy, and Judi did, in spades. That was what started it, I think. But hubris he might have in any case.
I have a couple of questions for you. Do you really believe that Rudy Guiliani is a transvestite? Calling someone a cross-dresser implies that they make a habit of cross-dressing and therefore could be classified as a transvestite, or someone who is transgendered. Do you believe that Guiliani dressed as a woman in those skits because he felt some sort of sexual gratification in doing so?
“Do you really believe that Rudy Guiliani is a transvestite?”
I don’t know. I can’t speak for what he does in his free time. But the three times he dressed as a woman is most likely three times more than any of the men here have ever dressed as a woman.
“Calling someone a cross-dresser implies that they make a habit of cross-dressing and therefore could be classified as a transvestite, or someone who is transgendered.”
Main Entry: cross-dress·ing
Pronunciation: ‘kros-”dre-si[ng]
Function: noun
: the wearing of clothes designed for the opposite sex
Well, rudy fits that definition then.
“Do you believe that Guiliani dressed as a woman in those skits because he felt some sort of sexual gratification in doing so?”
I don’t know what he was thinking. And that in itself is part of the problem. You wonder what he was thinking.
How many other republicans with aspirations for the presidency have done something similar? Can you envision reagan having done that?
I knew the definition of the term, “cross-dresser”. The definition is a simple one. One could say I am a “cross-dresser” when I wear a pair of my husband’s old jeans and one of his work shirts. However, when someone refers to someone as a “cross-dresser” and implies that they are doing so as a transvestite, for personal gratification, that is a completely different thing.
Can I envision Ronald Reagan dressing up as a woman while performing at some function and/or television show? You bet I can! He had a wonderful sense of humor and if he had done so, I certainly wouldn’t have accused him of being some sort of pervert.
Both of our sons dressed up as women for an event. As a matter of fact, one of them did it twice (two different events). It was HILARIOUS!!! My father dressed up as a woman too for an event. If he had been called upon to raise money for a charity by playing another part in a skit, and needed to dress as a female for the part, he would have been willing to participate. Real men are secure in their manhood and I’d bet money that Guiliani is a “real” man and those who are trying to use those three events as some sort of proof of, or questioning of, his manhood (so to speak) are being absolutely ridiculous and downright dishonest, IMHO.
