This is about a typical lawyer who can be briefed into competence on any subject.
It is not unique to Guiliani but it is common to lawyers who turn politician.

Considering the huge stakes in the Alaskan natural gas market currently being negotiated.. on amazing reserves.. Little wonder many forces are jockeying to parasite the "project"..
The Alaskan gas pipe line will have parasites hanging from it like the ceiling of a cave..

I have to disagree. Rudy isn’t an “empty suit.” He’s not afraid of the hard work it takes to manage policy issues.
That said, he’s still not a good choice for president. For one thing, he’s a prosecutor and lives for the fight.

In addition to soc cons, it appears he doesn’t need OK natural gas tycoons either. I wonder who will be written off next?
To: DeerfieldObserver
I am sure he will comply if he knows you dont approve of him running for the GOP nomination. Party officials and his supporters need to do that. A Giuliani nomination is political suicide of the Republican party.

And we thought his only bizarre behavior was being a cross dresser." Cross dressing isn't bizzare for a Democrat...

"
Who the heck could be on the other end of the line that would prompt anyone to do this?" Standard excape stunt, used by shyster executives when they know that they're in over their heads. Have your secretary make a pre-planned call to allow you to excape.

The ladies in my family seem to be swooning over Obama, as are alot of the ladies in the office. Rudy rubs women in NJ the wrong way, as does Hillary (rim shot).

As black pols go, Obama is a cheap immitation of Cory Booker, Newark’s mayor — who is the real deal. Both are too young for prez.

In my two years in Chicago, I had four congressmen (Bobby Rush, Barack Obama, Sidney Yates, and Jan Schakowsky). I met all of the above with the exception of Yates, and must say that Obama was the most personable, and at least gave his constituents the time of day. The same cannot be said of Rush (nice one on one, but foams at the mouth whenever a camera appears), Sidney Yates (out in la la land due to dementia/senility toward the end of his career) and Schakowsky (picture an uglier Ruth Messinger with a shrieking voice).
That being said, ideology aside, Obamamania will likely lead to a Veep spot, not the top of the ticket. At this point in the last campaign I was calling it for John Edwards. I may have been wrong then, but may not be wrong this time around.

I don’t want “personable” pols — I want statesmen. I can’t stand John Adams — reading a few pages of his bio makes me want to show up at a family reunion with two strippers, wearing a torn suit and waving a half empty bottle of Remy around. But he was a statesman.

“And we thought his only bizarre behavior was being a cross dresser.”
This is why I have left the Republican party. It used to stand for men with spines, but now has degraded into name calling and pure propoganda. I will now vote 3rd party from here on out waiting for the rest to wake up. Your “conservative” hero’s have done nothing to advance our cause. In fact, they have sold out completely.

Rudy is arrogance and entitlement personified. His personal character is a bad fit for the Presidency. yeah, we should have bumbling morons like GWB or Newt, cause they'd be soooo much better
To: neverhillorat
“Should I file this next to , GOP needs a backbone?”
It wouldn’t help the GOP any, as Rudy fights for the other side.

No, you should file it under “not knowing more than one tactic.”
