How is Giuliani in the center? He clearly is to the left of the majority of Americans on many of the top issues.

that likely centrist advantage in the general election This is the most dangerous myth in politics today.

. . . a Giuliani victory would become a Bill Clinton moment for the GOP . . . A glimmer of truth from a Rudybot.

It depends what you mean by “center.” This article is extremely vague. Does being in the “center” include federal funding for abortions as a constitutional right?

It is necessary for the GOP to move to a center-right philosophy in order to have any chance in 2008.
Conservatism has lost its cachet with the voting public and the alternative to moving towards the center is to have the Democratic moonbats running the country for a couple of decades or so.

This should annoy the AntiRudy bots...
Giuliani told reporters he supported those attempts to prevent the painful 13-day starvation and dehydration death that ultimately killed Terri.
“I thought it was appropriate to make every effort to give her a chance to stay alive,” he said at the campaign stop.
The comments come in contrast to those from former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who upset pro-life advocates and Terri’s family last month when he said he disagreed with the government’s efforts to save her life.
“I think it’s probably best to leave these kinds of matters in the hands of the courts,” Romney said.

Why are the rigid partisans on both sides so frightened? Because even the wing-nuts have learned over the years that a preponderance of polling data illustrates that most Americans are socially moderate and fiscally conservative while being strong on national defense. I stand recognized.

However, that likely centrist advantage in the general election can be kryptonite in the primaries because centrism has so often been antithetical to the ideologues selecting each partys nominee.Keep seeing my moniker pop up in different articles lately. Odd.
