And where did they find a representative sample of 40 year gay unions? My first thought was that it would be impossible to get a valid sample. Gay men in this country have a 42 year life expectancy. Presumably, the researchers had to throw out every couple where one or both partners died of AIDS, suicide, and substance abuse.

Most of the gay men I have known (I hesitate to say all, although it really could be all) have been in terrible relationships. They can sugarcoat it all they like, but it is about sexsexsex.
