Yes it is...and I think that there are way too many other sources of stem cells that do not require using embryos.

I wish it was illegal....I think the people that are pushing this bill should be grateful that it isn’t totally illegal.

To be going after ALL taxpayer’s money is digusting.

I saw a little bit of Norm Coleman earlier.

He and Sen. Isaakson have co-sponsored an alternate bill...SR.40 (I think).

I heard Sen. Coburn speak on it...their bill would allow for stem cells from each person to use their OWN stem cells.

Coburn pointed out that any time a “cure” would be made from the embryonic stem cells of anyone...the “patient” would be required to take anti-rejection drugs for their whole lives...just like transplant patients do now..

But, if we use our own cells...we don’t.

THAT isn’t going to answer the show problem...but I THINK there may be a vote this afternoon on the Coleman/Issackson bill..

I have to admit to being in and out on the Senate coverage..so I may be wrong about a vote...AND about the bill (there could be more aspects I missed hearing about).
