CONCORD Families with loved ones serving in Iraq lashed out at U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes, questioning how he can claim to support American troops while backing a deadline for bringing them home.
Hodes recently joined a majority in the House in voting for an Iraq spending bill that set a timeline for a troop withdrawal.
He spent one hour Saturday meeting with military families, many of whom became angry when he tried to explain his position.
One woman stormed out of the session after Hodes said he didnt know whether the spending bill would have passed without the millions of dollars in unrelated spending for pet projects it included.
Im done, said Gerry Duncan of Nashua, whose husband was injured in Afghanistan.

Good for them! Every time I think every state up here in the Northeast is consigned to the scrap heap of liberal thought, I see a ray of light poke through somewhere!
It is time for the American people to stand up and lash out at the idiots in Congress. They are far too secure in their elected jobs and it is definitely time to make them very uncomfortable.
Typical dems: bribing their way to defeat. I'm glad these people shouted at Hodes for an hour. Good for them!
Guy is lucky he wasn’t strung up by the neck. These bloated congressmen and women have no idea just how close to the edge they are skating.
“They are far too secure in their elected jobs and it is definitely time to make them very uncomfortable.”
Dern right.
I wish the families of the troops in Kileen would get CHET EDWARDS, the Pelosi B$tt Boy in the same meetings...
Somehow I just don’t believe this statement....Politician's are a different breed. They spend their lives begging for money, telling convenient lies and kissing the butts of people that can benefit them the most.
How do they live with themselves?
God Bless them!
Hopefully he learned something from this group but it’s doubtful.
That bill passed by a veeeerrrrrrry slim margin.
I’m glad his constituents let him know what they think. Let us all do the same, with our own.
Video of part of this meeting is here: http://granitegrok.com/blog/2007/04/no_fury_like_a_mother_scorned_the_movie.html
He sounds like a one termer to me. Hopefully, there will be a lot of one termers in this congress.
Dems’= Porkers for Defeat
There are a lot of people who are pessimistic, but as long as I see young men like these eight young Marines at the Gathering of Eagles on March 17th...I think our future is still bright!
“Im glad his constituents let him know what they think. Let us all do the same, with our own.”
Fortunately, I can just thank mine for voting against it.
I hear ya...
Well think of it this way:
I support Martin Luther King, but not his mission.
Good. Finally the AMERICAN PEOPLE are standing up to fight. That’s what we need. All we ever hear are the politicians and all the holly wood group who have a platform. The ordinary family whose loved ones are being sacrificed are the ones we need to hear from and hear from loud and clear. Speak up America and God bless all you families with loved ones serving to keep the rest of us free. It’s about time the REAL PEOPLE talk and talk and talk.
WoW! If any other congresscritters see this video - they will run like the wind to avoid a like meeting.
HOORAY for these men and women who took part. And Congress had better listen up cause they are not the only ones who feel this strongly.
Im glad his constituents let him know what they think. Let us all do the same, with our own.
I hope everyone takes the time to do this.
