Every time I think I never ever want to even watch Newt again he will come up with something so brilliant it boggles the mind.
His not to well thought out comments on a variety of topics will probably keep him from being potus. In addition, He has gone out of his way to try and get along with the Dems one too many times as well.

I used to be a Newt fan, but he lost me. Same here. I remember when he was Speaker, he lost favor with quite a few Republicans because they thought he allowed himself to be rolled by Clinton. At times you get the impression that he is leaning over backward to show how he can be open-minded and "tolerant" - like his appearances with Hillary on health care. He is too much of an opportunist in my view - I just don't trust him.
