I used to be a Newt fan, but he lost me.

Same here. I remember when he was Speaker, he lost favor with quite a few Republicans because they thought he allowed himself to be rolled by Clinton. At times you get the impression that he is leaning over backward to show how he can be open-minded and "tolerant" - like his appearances with Hillary on health care. He is too much of an opportunist in my view - I just don't trust him.

Agreed. And did you notice that the anti-spending anti pork discipline started to fade away after Newt left?

Good that we have Tom Coburn.

Although I am very happy with the Mitchslapping given by Senate Minority Whip Mitch McConnell.

In Tom Delay’s book, he credits Newt for many of his ideas, but bashes him on mangerial style - or lack of.
