This is NOT a matter of "backlash" over "one drunk-driving accident." The press in Norfolk is missing the larger story, like the press usually does.

Illegal aliens, not "undocumented aliens," are killing American men, women and children at a faster rate than American soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. When you combine criminal killings and auto accidents (drunk driving, speeding, or both), illegal aliens are killing Americans at twice the rate of war deaths, at least.

If the Norfolk Pilot had the brains to recognize a national story based in its own backyard, and the courage to follow the story wherever it led, they would be on this national story, now.
