Coldest April Easter in 57 years (MN)
KARE11.com ^ | 4/6/07 | Karla Hult

Better grab your insulated bonnets; we're in for the coldest Easter Sunday in years.

That didn't stop a group of early Easter egg hunters in Anoka this afternoon. They bundled up for the holiday tradition, despite the cold.

"That's Minnesota for you. But we still have our Easter spirit," said Sarah Oftelie.

Easter Sunday's high temperature will struggle to make 40 degrees, barely higher than Christmas day. In fact, we haven't seen April temperatures like this in almost 60 years.

Other parts of the country are freezing, too. Friday's Twins game is canceled in Chicago, and Atlanta could see its coldest Easter Sunday in 120 years.

It's so cold that there can be no other explanation than global warming climate change.

Indeed....Global warming not only causes rising temperatures, but it contributes to the unpredictability of temperatures, in general. Also, it causes male pattern baldness as well as drunk driving.

Wait, I thought we had so much global warming that the Eskimos lost 3 of their words for snow.

Have to re-write the song...’put on your Easter bonnet - with warm ear-flaps upon it...’

Actually, the ice is pretty much gone, except for some of the far northern lakes. I was in Bemidji last weekend and the area lakes were all open around the edges, ready to let go.

I remember being in a club in Bemidji about ten years ago.A memorable night . Lots of Nordic blonde honeys and a spectacular aurora display.

This morning in Jackson County.

Next thing you know the Gorebites will be trying to outlaw digital photography because it makes them look bad.

The aurora displays up there can be spectacular. As can be the local Nordic talent...;-)

I had a doctor appointment this morning, my dostor’s office only takes appointments on a walk in, first come first serve basis on Saturday mornings. When the door opened at 9AM there were 15 or so in the waiting room waiting to get in to see Doc. The conversation in the waiting room turned to GLOBAL WARMING......I was already feeling ill, but I was on the verge of BARFING within two minutes of sitting in that waiting room.

We’re DOOMED I tell ya, if this is a sample of the mentality in the USA, that is.

Heck, it's in the 30's right now in Texas (Dallas / Fort Worth area). We're expecting a brief freeze tonight. May even have snow.

I was in a convenience store Friday and a customer was complaining about the weather. I made a quip about not knowing that Al Gore was in town. One glare from the whining customer but laughs from others.

The ice has been gone on Minnetonka for a while now. There’s probably still some up north, though. We had an 80 degree day about a week and a half ago. The only thing you can predict about the weather here with any degree of certainty is that it will be unpredictable.
