When I got my copy of the March 12 issue of Sport Illustrated, with Florida Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis hip deep in a flooded Dolphin Stadium to promote the magazine's "Sports and Global Warming" issue, I just had to laugh.
"As the Planet Changes, So Do the Games We Play: Time to Pay Attention," warned the headline.

As much as I like the photography and some of the writing in Sports Illustrated, I will not be renewing my subscription.
Of course, what should we expect? Sports Illustrated is part of the Time Warner AOL conglomerate that has fallen hook, line and sinker for the global warming fraud. Through all of its media tentacles, this communications beast spreads the lie that man's activity on the planet is responsible for changing the climate, specifically producing too much carbon dioxide that leads to global warming.
Now the hysteria is being spread to sports fans many of whom, I suspect, only read Sports Illustrated to take a break from this kind of pervasive propaganda in news and entertainment outlets.

The hot air from the boobs on ESPN definitely doesn’t help global warming.
Heck maybe global warming will help the Cubs finally win a world series.
Is the real estate value of beach front property going up or is going down?
Are beach front property owners rushing to dump their doomed properties?
We had some light snow flurries today in Denton County.
I love Minor League baseball. A large number of the games are having to be canceled because of the extreme cold and snow. This is happening as far south as Texas and Tennessee.
I just checked Accuweather for the forecast. They are calling for record shattering cold this week-end.Cold as far south as Florida is expected to break all time cold records by 10 degrees or more.
Are these global warming cultists just oblivious to their surroundings. No human being could really be that stupid.
Years ago (before the Donovan McNabb incident) I let my SI subscription lapse after gratuitous negative comments made without context about Rush Limbaugh on the back page editorial.
Would you believe this was the first issue I received upon re-subscribing? Serves me right.
Please don`t write “Global warming”...The correct term is “Gorebull warming”....Hey check out this article....
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070407/D8OBK1DG0.html
He`s only an emeritus Professor but Al Gorebull with his freggin` Bachelor of arts degree knows more.
Maybe AL Gorebull can tell me how an atmosphere that is comprised of .01% CO2 can lead to a greehouse effect similar to that of Venus when there is approx. a million times more O2 spewing life forms on earth than life forms and things that spew CO2...
Oh wait, I got that wrong...Earths atmospere is not comprised of .01% CO2...It`s .04%...Whoa, .04%, I can feel the heat already!

it snowed about 30 miles north of Houston today. Can’t you feel the global warming? BRRRRR!!!
We’ve got heavy sleet here in Austin.
Excerpt.
"...Imagine that there is a new scientific theory that warns of an impending crisis, and points to a way out.
This theory quickly draws support from leading scientists, politicians and celebrities around the world. Research is funded by distinguished philanthropies, and carried out at prestigious universities. The crisis is reported frequently in the media. The science is taught in college and high school classrooms.
I don't mean global warming. I'm talking about another theory, which rose to prominence a century ago.
Its supporters included Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Winston Churchill. It was approved by Supreme Court justices Oliver Wendell Holmes and Louis Brandeis, who ruled in its favor. The famous names who supported it included Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone; activist Margaret Sanger; botanist Luther Burbank; Leland Stanford, founder of Stanford University; the novelist H. G. Wells; the playwright George Bernard Shaw; and hundreds of others. Nobel Prize winners gave support. Research was backed by the Carnegie and Rockefeller Foundations. The Cold Springs Harbor Institute was built to carry out this research, but important work was also done at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and Johns Hopkins. Legislation to address the crisis was passed in states from New York to California.
These efforts had the support of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Medical Association, and the National Research Council. It was said that if Jesus were alive, he would have supported this effort.
All in all, the research, legislation and molding of public opinion surrounding the theory went on for almost half a century. Those who opposed the theory were shouted down and called reactionary, blind to reality, or just plain ignorant. But in hindsight, what is surprising is that so few people objected.
Today, we know that this famous theory that gained so much support was actually pseudoscience. The crisis it claimed was nonexistent. And the actions taken in the name of theory were morally and criminally wrong. Ultimately, they led to the deaths of millions of people.
The theory was eugenics, and its history is so dreadful --- and, to those who were caught up in it, so embarrassing --- that it is now rarely discussed. But it is a story that should be well know to every citizen, so that its horrors are not repeated.
The theory of eugenics postulated a crisis of the gene pool leading to the deterioration of the human race. The best human beings were not breeding as rapidly as the inferior ones --- the foreigners, immigrants, Jews, degenerates, the unfit, and the "feeble minded." Francis Galton, a respected British scientist, first speculated about this area, but his ideas were taken far beyond anything he intended. They were adopted by science-minded Americans, as well as those who had no interest in science but who were worried about the immigration of inferior races early in the twentieth century --- "dangerous human pests" who represented "the rising tide of imbeciles" and who were polluting the best of the human race..."
Then when you consider that 98% of that .04% is entirely natural, it puts our contribution in the proper perspective.
Good question - wonder if Fat Teddy is worried about his waterfront estate? Maybe he’ll put in a huge sea wall, at taxpayer expense of course!
I can't believe anyone still reads this high-school-Harry drivel.
Exactly, it`s just a ridiculous fraction of a fraction. Like I said on other posts, if you put all the CO2 spewing things in the world in one area, it would fit an area the size of the southern tip of Florida, if that! All the people that exist in this world if they stood side by side would only fit in 800 square miles, the size of Jacksonville!
Meanwhile if you looked at the entire continent of South America from space all you`d see is green green green green...Not green from cars, not green from people wearing green shirts, but green from plants! Plants plants.... Trees, grass, bushes, plants absolutely everywhere.
I tell you this whole “Gorebull warming” stuff is really beginning to get on my nerves, it`s just everyday with this hoax, on the headlines, TV, the radio like it`s some cataclysmic event that is coming any second..Meanwhile we got a bunch of freggin` Islamic fanatics who are doing anything and everything they can to wipe out half of humanity, oh but let`s ignore them and focus more on Al Gore and his BS show.
I truly think the whole basis for this moron doing this, is he can`t bear the thought of Bush getting more press than him, so he doesn`t care whether this is a hoax or not, as long as he gets the attention. And this is proven by how he lives. If he truly believed in it, he wouldn`t be using 20 times the amount of electric that other people do. He`s just the most irritating self absorbed arrogant a-hole going, freggin` moron is so stupid he doesn`t even realize how obvious he is.
Unreal isn`t it? It`s cold up here in New York as well. I think upstate they even got some snow.
Did you read that Wikipedia article? It says there`s even more Argon in the atmosphere than CO2!! lol!! This is unreal, this moron Gore is literally saying a fraction of a fraction of CO2 in the atmosphere will destroy the earth! What`s next Al, a golf ball is coming that will roll along and crush entire cities? LMAO!!
Unfortunately we are just preaching to the choir here. On the Saturday am money talk shows this am on Fox I noticed few of the conservatives challenging the notion of man-made global warming. Jonathan “capitalist pig” guy put up a valient fight but was shouted down. Most conservatives seemed to be pushing for private sector solutions rather than govt etc but few would take the issue on head-first and challenge the notion taht we are causing the warming. Newt is in that camp. Bush also. We have no politicians of stature willing to take on all these scientists.
Slooooow Dowwwwn. Take a deep breath.

Ok. Reality should be coming back to you now.
