Buying ipods is the least of the bad ideas the Dems in Michigan are proposing.

IPods will “help” take the pain away while the Dems destroy the economy.

Before the next election, the dem candidate will campaign hard on the “happiness” the IPods brought forth and offer “free” ITune downloads if you vote for Democrats again.

By the way, con men/women, grifters, hustlers, democrats, race baiters, socialist in control of legislation are hardly idiots.

The idiots are the people who fall/vote for the con.

“Buying ipods is the least of the bad ideas the Dems in Michigan are proposing.”

So the left is going to tax us so kids can have IPods the left won’t allow them to wear?

Now it all makes sense. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Do you hear conservatives say that they are not against all government handouts? That they support handouts to the truly needy? This is where it always has to end. Need will be constantly redefined upward. The only way to avoid this depravity is to stop it where it begins: government help for the truly needy.

"Liberalism is a mental disorder."

Silly you, don't you know that iPod's fueled the Renaissance?

It will probably reduce the crimes of stealing iPODs dramatically, but increase the rate of download thefts.

Michigan is the Louisiana/Missippi of the North and Midwest. It’s a basket case.

Expect the next "logical" increment, Free batteries for the ipod internet access for the free download on the quad core computer

Why stop there? They need clothing so they'll have a pocket to carry the ipod, a house to store the computer, electricity to run everything, food ......

Who wants to bet that a majority of the free iPods will end up hawked on the street within 5 minutes of their distribution?

House Democrats Thursday offered a spending plan that would buy a MP3 player or iPod for every school child in Michigan.

No cost estimate was attached to their hare-brained idea to "invest" in education. Details, we are promised, will follow.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Every school child needs to download vile rap music to listen to so they can be socially accepted and be culturally sensitive to gangsa music

Ebonics taught via the earplugs

They do realize that every ipod needs a computer to operate, might as well just budget a PC or Apple for every student, everybody MUST be equal

It's only taxpayer money after all, there is PLENTY to go around

"We wonder how financially strained Michigan residents will feel about paying higher taxes to buy someone else's kid an iPod."

Hey, they voted in a bunch of collective socialist politicians, obviously, they got what they wanted by the vote.

We are your overlords, you WILL pay for an IPod for that child that desperately needs one so not to be a social misfit.

On FR I claim the state of my birth not the state where I live. Where I do live these are the facts. The public schools have an enrollment of roughly 50 per cent African-American. The geographic area the district covers has an African-American population of roughly 15 per cent. In the middle and high schools those who qualify for free or reduced price lunches including not just African-Americans is 90 per cent. If you were to spend any time in those schools you would see that the students having cell phones is at least 50 per cent. 90 per cent free lunch and 50 per cent cell phones, and as Yakoff Smirnoff used to say What a country! As far as any significant achievement, test scores reflect little. It is low achievement and high violence, and high drop out. But most everyone seems well fed and do not SEEM technologically deprived.
