Giuliani Memo Suggests Strength Among Conservatives
Political Wire ^ | April 6, 2007

An internal Rudy Giuliani strategy memo "says conservative voters already know and are comfortable with the candidate. The March 22 memo, a copy of which was obtained by The State, quotes polls from Gallup and Newsweek that show Giuliani with a wide lead among self-described conservatives and regular churchgoers and a slim lead among those who say they attend church weekly."

Writes strategist Brent Seaborn: "There are, of course, some voters that will never vote for Mayor Giuliani, and we know that we will see polls tighten. But the 'when voters find out about Rudy’s record the sky will fall' notion is a myth."

I think that Rudy will win some northeastern states and perhaps a couple on the Pacific Coast, but that Thompson would sweep most of the rest and win the nomination.

One area where Bush has excelled has been in judicial appointments. I hope another Supreme Court justice steps down before he leaves office.

Rudy should sharpen his communication skills to help make his case clear and persuasive. He had two significant missteps last week - 20/20 and the recent CNN interview. Maybe he started to believe his own press and thinks everybody loves him - a poor and untrue position!

Amen! But the sad part is some of these far, far Righties don’t care. Go figure.

They appear to be concluding that conservative results are more important than conservative doctrine. At least that’s my take on it.

Just win, baby.

And appoint strict constructionists to the bench.
