An internal Rudy Giuliani strategy memo "says conservative voters already know and are comfortable with the candidate. The March 22 memo, a copy of which was obtained by The State, quotes polls from Gallup and Newsweek that show Giuliani with a wide lead among self-described conservatives and regular churchgoers and a slim lead among those who say they attend church weekly."

Writes strategist Brent Seaborn: "There are, of course, some voters that will never vote for Mayor Giuliani, and we know that we will see polls tighten. But the 'when voters find out about Rudy’s record the sky will fall' notion is a myth."

I believe there are two types of liberals:

Those who can't - or won't - think for themselves and those who try and out think common sense.

That's why the majority of people who never graduated high school and the majority of people with post graduate degrees are liberals, but the majority of those with some college or a bachelors degree are conservative.

In fact, a Giuliani Presidency will entrench the GOP into the minority and likely drive southern social conservatives back to the Democratic party, who will continue to run social conservatives in red states as they did in the last election.

A Giuliani Presidency will take the GOP back to the "good old days" of the 1970s when there was a Democrat-dominated congress and liberal Republican in the White House.

Well, I am glad to hear that. But in all honesty, Rudy has to make a better case for himself on social issues on interviews. Abortion is one, why on earth didn't he say, yes, I support federal funding consistent with the Hyde Amendment just like any other president, Republican or Democrat, has done since it became law in 1977, and I have no intention to pursue a change in the law?

He needs to make a better case for himself because the media is out to hang him.

WISHFUL thinking by liberal pollsters. Here’s a guy who would ban privately owned handguns, use government money to kill babies even as they are being born, and endorse “sanctuaries” in which local police refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. No vote for Rudy from this conservative. If it’s Rudy vs. Hillary or Hussein Osama, I’ll stay home.

I love Fred Thompson, too, but I can't help but feel that he doesn’t really have that “fire in the belly” desire to be POTUS. I do not really trust Romney. He reminds me too much of a Republican Bill Clinton trying to say just the right things and trying to be something that he is not - a true conservative. If Newt gets into the race, I would not support him either although I agree with him on just about every issue. I think that uninformed people do not vote for people that they do not like and Newt was demonized so much by the media while he was Speaker of the House that a lot of people would not vote for him for that reason alone. (BTW, that’s one reason I have never really believed that Hillary can win the Presidency. She is just not a likable person. One day, the US will have a female POTUS, but it will NOT be Hillary and it will NOT be during a time of war.)

One of the main things that I like about Rudy is “what you see is what you get”. He has not tried to remake himself into an image that will make him more attractive to Republican primary voters. He is a strong leader who would never allow Nancy Pelosi to get away with daring to try to represent the US in foreign policy matters. I LOVE George Bush, but I wish that he were not such a gentleman. A lot of Freepers perceive it as weakness, but I think that it is just an unwillingness to sink down to their level and treat them as he has been treated. He knows that ultimately God is in control and that good will triumph over evil in the end and he does not care if he gets any credit for it or not.
