'Anti-Muslim' Australia attacked

FIREBRAND Islamic convert Yvonne Ridley has accused Australians of being among the worst Muslim haters in the world.

As millions of Australians celebrated Easter, they were branded Islamophobes by the outspoken British woman.

She believes Australian attitudes to Islam are hardening faster than any other nation.

"I'm deeply shocked," Ms Ridley said.

"It's not what it was when I was last here three years ago.

"I've visited over 20 different countries in the last three years and Australia is the most shocking in terms of deterioration."

Ms Ridley, 48, will speak about Islamophobia today at a controversial Muslim conference at Melbourne University.

Thousands are expected to attend a series of lectures over the weekend.

Organisers laughed off suggestions the 1st Annual Australian Islamic Conference was staged over Easter to insult Christians.

"We certainly meant no insensitivity," organiser Adel Salman said. "We weren't making any particular statement or any

“Ms Ridley, 48, ......”

Translation; Menopausal and single with midlife crisis.

This is the kind of woman who kept the Premarin industry alive for all those years.

If I looked like that, I would ditch the headscarf and go for the burqa.

I WONDER what would happen if I strolled in to St John’s Church in Lafayette Square opposite The White House and ripped up a few bibles.

This is already well documented. The person who ripped up the Bibles could then apply for a government grant calling it performance art. They would get the grant and be well funded for years. Universities would then bring the person in, in the name of tolerance and diversity, for paid art performances.

Thank God for John Howard and the Aussies. Here in the USA, a Tx. Pub State Sen. asked an iman to pray for Texas Leg. He blasted Christ., our heritage and one wonders just how PC we will become before Islam is so accepted here , we surrender without defending ourselves? I am sick and tired of PC efforts to cover up the dangers of Islamofascism. I expect the DNC next to put into their platform some baloney about being tolerant to Islam and the Stupid Party, the GOP will slavishly follow because after all, we don’t want to offend anyone.

“What’s real estate going for in Australia? I speak the language so that’s not a barrier (not that it is for all of the illegals flooding into the states). Sounds like a great country!”

Except you cannot legally defend yourself, nor own firearms for that purpose. Makes more sense to stand and fight here.

Interesting you say that.

I’ve lived in Oz for 46 years, have never owned a gun and don’t know anyone who has ever been shot or shot at (apart from military blokes).

This is one area where Aussie and US culture differ greatly.

This is one area where Aussie and US culture differ greatly.

I have tried and tried to explain the difference IS one of culture! But each time I do, I enter into a storm on FR, so I try no more...

allow me to provide just one small example:

We had a visitor from the US, a young man of 22 who lives in Miami, Florida. We took him to Surfers Paradise, a tourist city in Queensland. Walking through the central Mall, I observed he was quite aggitated, looking around, clenching his fists, grinding his teeth...it would have been amusing if he hadn't been so obviously uncomfortable. When I asked him to explain his demeanour, he confided that he felt in danger - because he was unarmed.

What will we do if we are attacked or mugged, he asked me. There was nothing I could say to persuade him there was not any danger, in broad daylight on a sunny afternoon in Surfers Paradise...where my main concern was to eat my ice-cream before it melted, while he kept his eyes open for street-gangs that did not exist. The young man eventually returned to Miami and the culture he was accustomed to, after spending entire days in his room because he was afraid to go out alone without his weapon. He's no wimp, he's 6'2 and quite expert in martial arts.

At the same time it might be appropriate to mention the 2002 Bali bombings. A nightclub was destroyed by "Islamic fanatics". It was chosen because of the lesser chance of Islamic believers being at a nightclub. Death toll was 209 once, happy go lucky persons, 169 of them, foreign visitors, harming absolutely nobody. 88 Australian citizens died (as you know, but a reminder for others).

This exceeds the London dead on the tube station and the bus- I believe 57 persons. As for Ridley, her fine old Northern England name is besmirched. She has to change that name. It is frightening that people like her exist. The enemy within. It would be normally be dismissed with a right Northern comment.

I’ve lived in the US for about 44 years, and in other countries for about 8 years, total. The only places I’ve been shot at were outside the US, and those were during a war. I’m one of those “military blokes.” However, I’m a strong believer in the personal nature of the US Constitution’s Second Amendment. Y’all do what you want down there, but I’m not even visiting until you recognize something similar. I’ve known a number of people, including family members, who might still be here if they had been armed, and are not because they weren’t. I don’t go ANYWHERE without some kind of armament, although it may not be firearms.

I've been in the U.S. for 45 years and the only people that I know who have been shot at and/or killed by guns are friends/associates of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Otherwise, not a soul.

Although I do live in an area where crime is low. Interestingly (or maybe not), violent crime is high in my county where the illegal alien populations are high as well. Coincidence?

I would never consider venturing a view that the US Second Amendment is in any way wrong. That’s a matter for you Septics to sort out.

I do, however, feel a lot safer on the streets of Melbourne or Sydney after dark than I have ever felt when visiting DC or LA. Gun wounds are a rarity in our emergency departments.

It’s obviously your choice as to where you visit but by boycotting Australia, you put yourself at a significant loss.

I well believe the connection with the Clintons!!!

As to the crime/illegal alien ratio, that is as easily believable.

Austrailia has turned out to be best part of England! Even America is falling all over themselves for Islam. Australia is right on, and if America doesn’t follow suit, we will no longer be America.
