When did it come to the point that being a Christian meant caring about only two issues, abortion and homosexuality?
Ask the nonreligious what being a Christian today means, and based on what we see and read, it's a good bet they will say that followers of Jesus Christ are preoccupied with those two points.
Poverty? Whatever. Homelessness? An afterthought. A widening gap between the have and have-nots? Immaterial. Divorce? The divorce rate of Christians mirrors the national average, so that's no big deal.
The point is that being a Christian should be about more than abortion and homosexuality, and it's high time that those not considered a part of the religious right expose the hypocrisy of our brothers and sisters in Christianity and take back the faith. And those on the left who believe they have a "get out of sin free" card must not be allowed to justify their actions.
Many people believe we are engaged in a holy war. And we are. But it's not with Muslims. The real war -- the silent war -- is being engaged among Christians, and that's what we must set our sights on.

“Uh...never. Next.”
Exactly!
He gets it. That’s why he fabricated the con and CNN put it up.
the differance between a cafetaria christian and a fundamental belever.

1. Abortion
2. Homosexuality
3. Poverty
4. Global warming
5. AIDS
For the people who never read the Bible, he will come the second time as the Lion. His first job will be to defeat Satan. As the rest will follow.
Roland Martin?
He was much funnier when he did Laugh-In.
Aha! The old ‘divide and conquer’ strategery!!
/Maxwell Smart off
Basically, these are the "social justice" (read: Socialists) who try to say Christ was a Communist too.
I ask them:
"Do you know what Christ really wants? It is one thing - do you know what it is?"
I get many answers "He wants us to help the poor!"
Or "Don't judge!"
No.
What Christ really wants is for you to admit you are a sinner, and to ask Him to come into your heart.
What Christ really wants is to save you from Hell by His sacrifice.
Tell this to a Liberal, and 99% of the time they want to rip your eyes out.
That is proof they have no idea who Christ is, and have no relationship with Him.
If Jesus lived today, what do you think would be his top priority?
1. Abortion
2. Homosexuality
3. Poverty
4. Global warming
5. AIDS
For the people who never read the Bible, he will come the second time as the Lion. His first job will be to defeat Satan. As the rest will follow.
His first priority WAS to save SINNERS.
When He comes AGAIN, He will remove His own since He ALREADY defeated Satan when He rose from the dead. Satan was defeated when Christ rose from the dead.
being a Christian is based upon the acceptance of Jesus blood for your salvation, now that blood (and the Holy Spirit) is what causes most Christians to “speak-up” when it comes to Abortion (Thou Shalt not commit murder), and Homosexuality (prohibited in Lev, Rom, Corin, other books).
Although ALL of those issues are moral, Homosexuality, and Abortion are the biggest issues made so by those whom want acceptance of these behaviors, It wasn’t Christians clammoring for a “right to abortion”, or for the acceptance of “sodomy” ( Biblical term)!
...I am sick of those whom don’t regualarly seeking the pages of God’s Word telling (ME) Christains what we SHOULD do and how we SHOULD act. As for me and my house (we will serve the Lord)!
When did man's existence come down to carnal pleasures as a way of life over continuation of the species?
Abortion IS murder. It is a selfish act (like suicide) because of lack of care to prevent pregnancy and an unwillingness to say "No" to a sex partner when realizing that there is not adequate protection available.
Homosexuality is a subversion of the natural order. It has been forced down our throats by an activist court rather than settled legislatively by elected representatives (who are the ones who make laws). We are told it is a valid lifestyle choice that seeks to be equal to the natural pairing of a man and a woman. Homosexuals themselves have long embraced the notion that it is an "alternative" lifestyle.
The sex positive agenda seeks to end all moral judgements over sexual pairings regardless of sex, age, relation, marital status, number, or species of partner(s). It seeks to see everyone sexually active at every age. They consider abstinence unhealthy because it is "a supression of sexual desires".
When confronted with a hedonistic worldview, it is clear why these are highly discussed issues among the moral Christian base.
What was the lesson of Sodom and Gomorrah if the Satanic philosophy of "Do as thou will shall be the whole of the law" is accepted BY Christians?
We all sin. We are directed to go forth and sin no more. Not to celebrate our sins and redefine morals to suit our own lives.
So I called and sent an e-mail asking, "So, where were you when President Clinton appointed Christian judges to the bench? Were they truly behind Christian judges, or Republican Christian judges?
While many of the judges nominated by Clinton may have been, or claimed to be, Christians, I seriously doubt of them were ever opposed by Republicans because they were Christians.
The controversy to which he refers is with regard to judges nominated by Bush who were opposed because Senators found their Christian beliefs "troubling" or "out of the mainstream."
If he dpesn't understand the difference, I don't know how to explain it to him.
Actually the way I hear it, couples who pray together have a much lower divorce rate.
An excellent point. Jesus never specifically spoke about the evil of abortion or homosexuality, but he did speak strongly about the evil of divorce.
Although divorce is very different today than it was in his day.
The Quick Vote gives us all a chance to pretend we know the mind of God.
Then who is on the thrown of David in the Temple right before his return?
“If Jesus lived today, what do you think would be his top priority?
Abortion
Homosexuality
Poverty
Global warming
AIDS”
Obviously written by someone who doesn’t have a clue who Jesus is or what his mission is. Not only that, but the implication is that Jesus is dead.
The point is that being a Christian should be about more than abortion and homosexuality,
On the latter it already is Roland. Apparently you don't know about that. On the former you don't know your history. Try reading a book or visiting your local Catholic charity. You are in for a big surprise.
And just for a clue abortion and homosexuality are two of the biggest abominations that the secular left constantly jams in the Christian face. Of course it appears they are reacting to that more than the others. They have to.
