The Mother of All Blunders

On any given day, one isn't likely to find common cause with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He's a dangerous, lying, Holocaust-denying, Jew-hating cutthroat thug -- not to put too fine a point on it.

But he was dead-on when he wondered why a once-great power such as Britain sends mothers of toddlers to fight its battles.

Ahmadinejad characterized the release of 15 British sailors and marines, including one woman, seized at sea last month as a gift to Britain. In reality, the hostages were the West's gift to Ahmadinejad.

When a pretender to sanity like Ahmadinejad gets to lecture the West about how it treats its women, we've effectively handed him a free pass to the end zone and made the world his cheerleaders.

Not only does the Iranian president get to look magnanimous in releasing the hostages, but he gets to look wise. And we in the West get to look humiliated, foolish and weak.

Just because we may not ``feel'' humiliated, doesn't mean we're not. In the eyes of Iran and other Muslim nations, we're wimps. While the West puts mothers in boats with rough men, Islamic men ``rescue'' women and drape them in floral hijabs.

We can debate whether they're right until all our boys wear aprons, but it won't change the way we're perceived. The propaganda value Iran gained from its lone female hostage, the mother of a 3-year-old, was incalculable.

It is not fashionable these days to suggest that women don't belong in or near combat -- or that children need their mothers. Yes, they need their fathers, too, but children in their tender years are dependent on their mothers in unique ways.

There's not enough space here to go into all the ways that this is true, but children (and good parents) know the...

I don’t think the practitioners of Terror-Islam care how we percieve them. Why should we care about how they percieve us? Especially when their percepptions of us are dangerously wrong (for them)?

Britain’s hostage crisis was their World Trade Center ‘93. Mark my words, they were tested, and they failed. So did the rest of the civilized world. :*(

Something bad’s coming UK’s way, don’t know when, don’t know where, but you can make book on it after this little Iranian won fiasco. :-(

It's not either fashionable or politically correct.

But it's the truth.

It doesn’t matter what a bunch of fanatical muslims think of us, in one sense. But it’s very important in another sense. If a bloodthirsty enemy thinks you are a pushover, he will attack you.

The leftists in this country say they are for peace. But there could be no better recipe for war than to give your enemy the impression, true or false, that you are weak and without honor. The British have now done that, and there will be a high price to pay, either because they go down the road to dhimmitude or because they are drawn into all-out war. Neither should be wished for.

Please.

If a bloodthirsty enemy thinks you are a pushover, he will attack you.

They've thought that for decades now, if not longer. Hence 9/11 and all the other manifestations of Terror-Islam.

dhimmitude or...all-out war. Neither should be wished for.

Pretending to be what your are not (in this case, a medieval culture,) simply to avoid violence initiated by others, is a form of slavery. Live free or die.

THIS is what the US MSM (traitors) and the IslamoNazi's wanted you to see.

This is what the wide angle showed, as Persian Islamonazi's tried to coerce
a few less docile Royal Marines, to try to get them to act like the other half-wits.

Did the traitorous MSM ever show the full picture, or did they hide it for their Persian Masters?

It is not okay to send young mothers into combat but it is okay to strap explosives on them and blow themselves and other innocent people.

In the world of Islamofascism, every man, woman, and child is "in or near combat". This woman could have been a passenger on a cruise ship and -- if it suited the purposes of the madman of Iran -- could just as easily been kidnapped and humiliated. Wisely or not, the woman in question presumably volunteered for this activity, which was more like policing than combat.

Islamists take affront every time our women show their hair or limbs or assertiveness or intelligence.

It's not our fault.

The top pic looks like the freakin’ Wiggles on tour. I’m at least a bit less discouraged after seeing the bottom 2. Thanks for posting all of them.

High-ranking Japanese government officials (those who survived) from the pre-war days were asked immediately post-war words to the effect of "what made you think that you could defeat US?" The replied that we only reauthorized the draft by 1 vote in 1940, sending a signal of tremendous weakness. This goaded Japan into attacking. The Brits just did something similar, as did our idiot-filled Congress by passing a resolution to put our tail between our legs and run away from a few ill-trained, ill-equiped savages in Iraq.

Fear what is coming, because we just failed some major tests of resolve.
