READ: John 3:13-18
I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:25
Last Easter morning when I walked into church I saw my friend and greeted her, Happy Christmas! I quickly corrected myself. I mean, Happy Easter!
Cant have one without the other, she smiled.
How true! Without Christmas, there wouldnt be an Easter. And without the resurrection, this day would be just another day. In fact, we wouldnt even be in church.
Christmas and Easter are the most joyful celebrations of the year for the Christian. In the first, we celebrate the incarnation (God taking on flesh and coming into the world). For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son . . . (John 3:16).
In the second, we celebrate Jesus resurrection. He is not here, but is risen! the angel said (Luke 24:6). From the beginning of time, these 2 days were inextricably linked in the master plan of the Father. Jesus was born to die for our sins and to conquer death so that we could live.
Which is more important? Christmasthe birth of the infant Jesus? Or Easterthe death and resurrection of the man, Gods Son? Both are essentialand both are clear evidence of the Fathers love for us.
Happy Christmas! And Happy Easter!

May the Promise of eternal life fill our hearts with joy on this Holy day!
Gonna be a cozy and indoor Easter Sunday, which is OK with me ... I'm babysitting a wounded kitten that showed up on my porch a few days ago and will be keeping a close eye on her until tomorrow, when we take a trip to the vet to get her looked after by a pro.
Today is our day to celebrate and remember that we, also, are being looked after by a Pro.
My goodness, it's such a wonderful life ... I'm so grateful for it all ... sad and terrible, sweet and glorious as it is.
Wishing all our Hostesses and our Honorable Mr. Mayor and all the Finest a most special and fine Easter Sunday.
