Our latest electoral college map shows that regardless of candidate, if the election were held today, a Democrat would be elected to the nations highest office. Red states that would flip include: Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Ohio and West Virginia. No Blue state would become red. The count would be: Democrats, 306, Republicans 232.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
What we've seen though is the GOP leadership saying, "Hey, Democrats are looking like they are polling good. Let's be more like them..."
Morons. Alienate your base and what the heck do you think is going to happen?
Another year of the Iraq war and the GOP loses the White House. Another 5 years of massive immigration from Central and South America, and the GOP dies for good. And you can write, “Thanks Bush,” on the tombstone.
Amnesty will destroy the GOP at the national level forever. The Democrat Party would split into two like in Minnesota.
I couldn’t see the data on the site, but if it’s accurate before amnesty, it’s all already over.
is that a serious question? GWB got plenty of Hispanic votes - 44% in 2004. in 2006, they broke 69/31 Dem.
that’s why we are losing these western states, because of the shift in hispanic voters to the Dems.
“Brady Bill” Bob Dole should have taught the GOP that much...
Exactly, Hispanics vote Democrat - 56 percent. A politician who gets 44 percent is a FORMER politician. A party that gets 44 percent is a LOSING party. Bush is inviting massive immigration from people who are at LEAST 56 PERCENT DEMOCRAT! Thanks for killing the Republican Party, Bush.
I've said so for a while, but most Freepers just dismiss it and live on in fantasy invincible GOP land. In particular I have said for a while that Dubya wouldn't win my state of Nevada if the election were held today, and also that Hilly could conceivably win it against a lackluster GOP candidate.
Time to snap out if it people - stop thinking that most of the nation is as nutty as you are.
Nothing you wrote is correct except, perhaps, Rudy taking PA.
can you add? without that 44% of the vote, or even if had shifted slight more towards Kerry - Bush would have lost.
just because you don’t get a majority of every voting demographic, doesn’t mean you can afford to get ZERO PERCENT of it.
why are republicans losing states like CO and NV and NM? provide your theory.
they are losing them because of the shift in hispanic voters, and the migration of californians into those states.
A lot can change, of course. But it would help if the GOP actually tried to help themselves a bit. :-)
God forbid that an American speaks the truth about the illegal invasion. You would be a good spokesman for this administration.
The Dems have alot of electoral strategies to use to win 2008:
- they can take Ohio
- or they can take NM+NV+CO (19 EVs), and with Richardson as VP, that’s a strong play for them
If we put up a candidate who has no chance to flip any Kerry states (Thompson for example) - we have to win Ohio, win either one of CO or NV, and hold Iowa too.
is Miami a third world city? Is spanish the “language of the ghetto”?
Yes, times two.
Here in Ohio it is clear from the 2006 election that the trend is blue. Our VERY conservative candidate for Governor lost by over 20%, and we lost a Senate seat to a complete left-wing moonbat.
A Republican might win Ohio next year, but not if the election is very close. That means the Republican candidate needs to win a Blue state to get elected. Outside of Rudy I don’t see anyone out there who can win PA or NJ or MI or some other major blue state.
The South plus the smaller Midwest and Rockies states aren’t enough. We have to have a major state on the coasts or in the Midwest. Tall order, and anyone representing the Bush - Delay - Frist brand isn’t going to cut it.
