On his "Imus In The Morning" show Thursday, he referred to the Rutgers women's basketball team as "nappy-headed hos."

He was talking to Sid Rosenberg with Sports Talk on the phone about the Women's NCAA Championship game.

Imus started out talking about the Rutgers team as, "some rough girls from Rutgers. They got tattoos," and then went on to call them "some nappy-headed hos."....."

I knew about Sid's problem. McGuirk made the Boo Boo this time.

"..The conversation then went on to compare the game to "the jigaboos versus the wannabes." Media Matters reported that the show's executive producer, Bernard McGuirk, made that comment..."

I notice it is reported by David Brock's Media Matters. What a collection of degenerates!

Personally, I used to like Imus. He lost me a few years ago. However, most of what he says is said for shock or attempts at laughs.

I think we all need to relax a bit. If the joke or shock comment isnt funny, dont listen. It seems everyone has such a short fuse these days....jeeeze.

Imus' low class was brought to my attention when my son called me in tears after he saw Imus and his "posse" on MSNBC LAUGHING while showing a clip of the conjoined Iranian women walking (who later died during an operation attempting to separate them). These women were conjoined at the head, but had gone on to university.

He thinks his ranch for children absolves him of personal petty sleaziness, but he's just a nasty man thinking we're fools.

Imus is an anus.

But look out...there are some folks on this forum that worship the ground he defiles, er, uh, walks on.

I'm sure they'll be along in a bit to defend him.

E.D. left F&F, and instead of giving her spot to the person who most deserved it...Kiren..they gave the spot to Gretchen Carlson...Who’s honey is she, by the way?

F& F’s ratings drop, imuss grow, but arehrink again, not because of this controversy, that will be glossed over by the by the scummy leftist immoral MSM, but because
Kiren will now be on CNN in the morning...

This is really FUBARed.

I’m not an imus fan but I think this crack is kinda funny.

Rude crude and disgusting to be sure. And offensive to boot.

There is a sad story about Kiran. Her agent pushed FoxNews too far and they had to let her go.

Kiran Chetry Axed From 'Fox and Friends' For Gretchen Carlson

Although I agree Kiran is a much better talent than Carlson and should have gotten the spot on 'Fox and Friends' instead of her, the actions of her agent doomed her there.

Firestorm? What firestorm? There is almost no reporting on this story. No Democrats commenting about it. No MSNBC executives are distancing themselves from Imus. Russert, Matthews, Mitchell, Olbermann have not commented nor have they been asked to.

No Al Sharpton, no Jesse Jackson.

No firestorm.

If people didn’t get upset when he made the comment about seeing a shot of Gwenn Ifill outside the Whitehouse.

Imus : Why the hell does NBC have a camera on the cleaning lady outside the Whitehouse?”

Yep, Imus is a bitter, old, bigoted coot.

Not entirely, Imus was fairly derogotory himself. Per Fox:

Imus: So, I watched the basketball game last night between — a little bit of Rutgers and Tennessee, the women’s final.

Rosenberg: Yeah, Tennessee won last night — seventh championship for [Tennessee coach] Pat Summitt, I-Man. They beat Rutgers by 13 points.

Imus: That’s some rough girls from Rutgers. Man, they got tattoos and —

McGuirk: Some hard-core hos.

Imus: That’s some nappy-headed hos there. I’m gonna tell you that now, man, that’s some — woo. And the girls from Tennessee, they all look cute, you know, so, like — kinda like — I don’t know.

McGuirk: A Spike Lee thing.

Imus: Yeah.

McGuirk: The Jigaboos vs. the Wannabes — that movie that he had.

Imus: Yeah, it was a tough —

Charles McCord: Do The Right Thing.

McGuirk: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Imus: I don’t know if I’d have wanted to beat Rutgers or not, but they did, right?

Rosenberg: It was a tough watch. The more I look at Rutgers, they look exactly like the Toronto Raptors.

When I read the “jigaboos” line, I nearly fell off my chair.

I agree with you. What bothers some of us is the double standard. If Ann Coulter says something relatively mild, then hysteria. If a liberal says something then mild or no reaction.

ALso to P-n-V for the transcript.

The Spike Lee reference is right, sort of. I think the movie that Imus’ producer had in mind is not “Do the Right Thing,” but “School Daze,” in which case, I reckon an apology is due the Tennessee team as well.

Having seen “School Daze,” I remeber the two groups of black women at the black college in the movie. The two groups were in disagreement over how black to be. One group straightened their hair and the other didn’t. The straight-hair group had a chant to taunt the non-hair-straightened group, and the chant used the word “jigaboo.”

The non-hair-straightened (natural hair if you will) group, if you’re following this, had a chant also: “You’re a wannabe, wannabe white! Your hair’s straight ‘cause you pressed it last night.”

The Tennessee women are being called wannabes as in “wannabe white.” Not a lot of black people like being told they want to be white.

No Al Sharpton, no Jesse Jackson.

For sure, one or both of them would be drawn like a shark to blood on this latest racial slur. It's just a part of their self-appointed job description.

We're watching two "reverends" without churches of their own...they have better and more lucrative fish they can "preach to" (read: save).

Neither has the credentials to chastise anyone; read their histories.

Imus deserves to be rebuked. Sharpton, Jackson and anyone else of their ilk are out for the possible dollars in their own pockets, IMO.

Finally, Shapton got into the act. There will be no long term consequences, however.
