The beat goes on. Almost three weeks now and all manner of pet food is being recalled and all manner of pets are still being poisoned by imported Chinese wheat gluten.

Also, Menu Foods is still expanding their canned pet food recall.

Feed my dog canned fish. Salmon and mackerel.

She loves it and it costs no more that dog food.

In about 25 years the mercury will get to her. But by then, she won’t care.

FDA Website with links to all recalls

Includes Del Monte, which I hadn't seen on other lists.

This is awful. I’m worried about feline canned Science Diet w/d since it has gluten meal in it.

Also one for salmonella that hasn't shown up on the FDA website yet but I found it at your link. Excerpt:

Eight in One Inc., a division of United Pet Group Inc., is recalling all packages of Dingo Chick’N Jerky, Dingo Kitty Chicken Jerky and Dingo Ferret Chicken Jerky.

They say it is unrelated to the other recall...hmmmmm.

DelMonte was a voluntaey recall of certain lot codes.

They have not had any pet incidents tied to their products.

We give our dog Meaty Bones once a day and my wife freaked out when she found out they were a DelMonte product, fortunately Meaty Bones are not affected by the recall.

“UPDATE: Story confirmed by AP. Recall in affect.

A reader reports that CNN just announced that FDA has identified another company that also received the tainted wheat gluten. FDA refused (once again) to identify the company, but CNN said that their products are made by Sunshine Mills.

They also sell dog treats under Wal-Mart’s Ol’Roy brand.

They own brands such as: Sunshine Pet Treats, Sportsman’s Pride, and World Pet Foods. They sell “throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, plus over thirty other countries worldwide.”

...the question is, when does this expand to include human food? You know that the focus on the bottom line is likely to have led to the use of this imported Chinese crap in prepackaged human foods.

In about 25 years the mercury will get to her.

I started giving my kitties tuna and egg. Was also worrying about the mercury thing. Guess it will take time to build in in their systems. Hopefully, before too long, I can find the right foods for them.
