Here’s a little clue:
Look at abortion from the viewpoint of population statistics and specific demographics. Look at its effect on the age demographics and then link it to the last three decades of raiding the Social Security Trust Fund.
It’s not pretty.
Abortion as an issue is a lot larger than you could ever imagine and that perspective is held without a shred of ‘emotion’.
Is it independent of others? No, there are other issues that tie into it closely.
My guess is that each of us could think of dozens of issues that are impacted indirectly. The only point I was trying to make is that the issue of right-to-life is not the only issue by which I will decide who gets my vote in 2008.
Someone else made a really good point here, too: If it comes down to Hillary or Rudy in 2008, I'll pick Rudy...period.
