Perata unveils plan to hold statewide vote on bringing troops home from Iraq

Californians would vote on a non-binding resolution telling President Bush to immediately begin withdrawing troops from Iraq under legislation that state Sen. Don Perata will announce today.

The measure, which would have to be approved by the Democrat-controlled Legislature and signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, would appear on the February 2008 presidential primary ballot.

"We've had nearly 3,300 Americans killed and spent more than $350 billion with no end in sight. We've established a democratic government in Iraq. Now it's up to the Iraqis work. With the possible exception of George Bush, we all know it's time to go."

The Vote Us Out of Iraq Advisory measure will be introduced in the Senate on Monday. California would be the first state in the country to call on Bush to withdraw American troops if the measure makes the ballot and voters agree to it.

How about an amendment to the measure to make Perata’s wife to wear a burkah — all the time?

How about an amendment to the measure to make Don undergo forced conversion to Islam?

How about an amendment to the measure to make the Perata’s live under Sharia law and provide them their own personal ayatollah to keep them accountable?

How about an amendment to the measure to have Don separated from his nuts, since he obviously isn’t doing anything with them?

How about an amendment to the measure that says, when the terrorists come here, they get to go to Don’s house, first, and carve out his pea brain with a rusty Ginsu steak knife?

How about an amendment to the measure mandating truth in advertising; declaring Liberals’ complete alignment with islamofascist terrorists?
