It's a seriocomedic commentary on the vatuousness and vulgar excesses of American popular culture. Watch it and see for yourself:

Or maybe it's just funny.
The headline was my most-likely ineffective attempt to keep my thread from being banished to the tumbleweed wasteland of General/Chat. See you there in moments!

I’m way out of the loop. I first heard about this song a week or so ago when the Wall St Journal did a story on “Alpha Women” or some such drivel. Some woman smugly said that she was bonding with her 11-year-old daughter over the song “My Humps”. And had no idea what she was talking about. But I figured it wasn’t a good thing.

It was a tribute to the worst song of this century.

I dropped an “I” — “And I had no idea what she was talking about.”

She’s Canadian. Most people fall asleep when she sings.

It is somewhat funny. I would not rate it hilarious, but it is quite a shot at Fergie whose lyrics are downright embarrassing.

Don’t feel bad, I made up an entirely new word when I meant to write vacuousness.

The song is notable because it has a weird hook that gets stuck in your head, but the song itself is the most idiotic thing you have ever heard.

I just thought it was vulgar and stupid—but then, what do I know. I haven’t been into music much since Elvis died.

Is this woman famous for something? It’s not like she can sing or dance or even be alluring despite the fake slaps and the guy grabbing her bottom.
