“Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which people convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery face the death sentence.”

Ok, it maybe Islamic law, but I think they have something here where the punishment fits the crime.

I wonder what would happen here if this law were enacted? Could some of these crimes vanish; and for those who got punished, well, they knew what they were getting into!

It’s barbaric but it works for them. When in Saudi I saw people going into the mosque in Riyadh for prayer time just leave their car keys, Nikon cameras etc. on the roof of their car. Nobody steals, nobody. They have a saying that you’ll see beggars with one hand (a thief) but you never see beggars with no hands.

The last public execution in Florida was here in Okaloosa County (panhandle FWB-Destin) on the courthouse lawn in the early 1900’s. Newspaper accounts of the day of the hanging said it was a carnival type atmosphere with people coming from far away (50 miles maybe?) and picnic lunches..............
