From the American Spectator article: Dowd was once "a top strategist for the Texas Democrats" who was "impressed by the pledge of Mr. Bush to bring a spirit of cooperation to Washington." Says Dowd of Bush: "It's almost like you fall in love, I was frustrated about Washington, the inability for people to get stuff done and bridge divides."

Sounds like Dowd should be disenchanted with the DEMOCRATS, then! The President has gone out of his way to be nice to those folks, and is constantly being criticized by them. The UN-civil tone is not coming from the White House.

I didn't know this.

That being the case, may the President know, that I, along with all of those I know who volunteered for both of his campaigns, continue to support him with the same affection and conviction. It is of great comfort to us to know that the President's faith and family are there to light his days, even as our voices are discounted and marginalized.

Hi Mystery,

Just saw this today. I use old sheets usually to cover mine. They don’t always go to the ground, but I try to get the bushes pretty well draped all around. I do not mulch or anything at the bottom of the plants. If they freeze, not only do you lose the buds that are already formed, but they will not flower for the entire year. I don’t want to risk that! I thought maybe we would escape having to cover this year, but I guess not. Let me know how it goes for you!

I have almost completely finished with Fox news, (I used to keep it on all day) but just had a premonition that the President might have something to say - and voila! there he was at the podium.
