This law does not apply to members of Congress - jeez how many times do I have to see this repeated post.
It does not apply to members of Congress..........
You’ve probably seen the picture of the huge jet that Pelosi and her sick friends took to the Middle East. It looked just like Air Force 1.
Bush had the option to instruct the generals not to let her take that plane. He let her take it. That’s enough right there to indicate that she has some sort of authority for this mission, arriving in Syria on an official jet that is with “United States of America” in huge letters on its fuselage.
If Bush really wanted to refuse permission for this junket, he could have told her to fly commercial, at her own risk.
She doesn’t need to be in jail. She needs a straitjacket and a Thorazine drip.
Hundreds (if not thousands) of House and Senate members have been on foreign trips and discussed foreign policy. The Logan act has never applied to them.
>>Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States<<
That’s probably because it doesn’t say that the authroity has to be from the executive branch. Congress can pass foreign policy legislation and thus their actions are with the authority of the united States.
The problem with Pelosi is that she is choosing to undercut foreign policy and send a divided message. Its the sort of thing you vote against her for, not prosecute her.
Sorry everybody .. but Pelosi is not “an ordinary citizen” - she’s an elected official. Logan doesn’t apply.
Yes, it’s appalling and it’s disgusting and all those things .. but let her hang herself .. because as usual the dems are OVERPLAYING THEIR HAND - AND THEY DO IT EVERY TIME.
They have just shown the public THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE WHITE HOUSE and they have no respect for the fact that Bush has the sole responsibility for foreign policy.
LOL, that would be awesome.
