Judith gets a First Lady thumbs up from her ex

Hubby No. 1 has fond memories of 'terrific' gal

Jeffrey Ross, in Tampa yesterday, told News that ex-wife Judith Giuliani would be a "terrific First Lady"

TAMPA - Judith Giuliani's secret first husband emerged from the shadows yesterday to tell the Daily News his ex would make a "terrific First Lady."

In his first public statements since the Daily News revealed that Rudy Giuliani's wife was on her third marriage, husband No. 1, Jeffrey Ross, had only good things to say about the former Judith Ross.

In what must have triggered a huge sigh of relief at Giuliani's campaign headquarters, the reclusive Ross said, "The only thing I will say is that Judith will make a terrific First Lady. That's my only comment on her."

"She is a terrific lady," he added while pausing outside his Tampa condo.

When pressed to discuss his former wife, Ross said, "That was 30 years ago, and I'd like to leave it there."

Ross conceded he was stunned to find himself in the spotlight as the 20-year-old woman he married in a Las Vegas wedding chapel is now in the running to be the country's First Lady.

"It's not every day you wake up and your picture is in the paper," he said.

But he was all class as he talked about Judith Giuliani.

"Our marriage ended very amicably, and I have only very happy and fond memories of our lives together during that time. I have no further comments."

The five-year marriage ended in 1979. Five days later, she married husband No. 2, Bruce Nathan. That lasted 13 years, and she and Giuliani were wed in 2003.

Her split with Nathan wasn't as kind. It involved a bitter custody dispute over their daughter, and in his divorce papers, Nathan scathingly called his ex-wife an "unfit" mother, a "social climber," a heavy drinker, "a manipulator and a pathological liar and exaggerator."

Ross, 56, said only "no comment" when asked if he would vote for Rudy Giuliani.

The two men hypothetically will have a chance to meet this week because Giuliani will be in Tampa on Wednesday to raise cash for his presidential campaign. No meeting is scheduled, however, and Judith Giuliani is not expected to be in town.

Giuliani's campaign, meanwhile, is pressing ahead with fund-raising and disclosed yesterday that it will make a formal announcement of his candidacy later this month - although he has acknowledged for the past two months that he's running.

The campaign said Giuliani will also change the status of his campaign with the Federal Election Commission today from an exploratory committee to a full-fledged presidential committee, a move that amounts to nothing more than a name change.

She married #2 five days after she and #1 split and he has nothing but fond memories? And I have a bridge for sale.

At the rate things have been progressing for the last few months, the 2008 presidential campaign is going to be an 18 month long Jerry Springer episode.

Bill Clinton could say the same things about his wife!

It’s the part of politics I despise. This poor guy can’t even be called an innocent bystander, he’s a total non-issue.

I will say, he showed a great deal more class than the media or a number of posters on the thread yesterday about the NYPost story.

And I will repeat what I said on that thread yesterday, I am not a Rudy supporter, I’m not supporting anyone at this point as it is too early IMO and I’m not ready.

She wouldn't be the First 'Lady', she'd be the First Trollop.

And rumor has it that her favorite song is 'That's Why The Lady Is A Tramp'.

(Sheesh, Hillary has more class than this skank)

Sounds Reasonable to get meet someone the day you are divorced, date them for two days, get engaged on the third day and get married on the fifth day.

You can tell by her looks that she’s hit the sauce a bit too much. Shades of Kitty Dukakis?
