Fort Carson Rally for VICTORY!
American Quilter

Posted on 04/02/2007 8:55:49 AM PDT by American Quilter

I support VICTORY in the war against Islamofascism, and I'm disgusted by the increasing efforts by Democrats to destroy the war effort.

This Saturday, April 7, 2007, there will be a rally outside the main gate of Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO, to support our troops. Fort Carson's troops have been rotating in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan since the beginning of the war, so this is a good place to let them know how much we appreciate them.

I've had three professional-quality banners made that read, respectively, "Honk If You Support Victory", "God Bless Our Troops", and "FreeRepublic.com Supports Our Troops". I'll also have American flags available.

The rally will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come for as long or short a time as you like, and help hold one of the banners or wave a flag! Even better, bring your own banner or sign and hold it high. You'll be delighted by the appreciation and gratitude of the troops, their families, and passers-by.

Ruin a Liberal's day--come out and rally for VICTORY!

The plans for the rally are well underway! Kudos to tonyf62 for inviting the Patriot Guard Riders to participate.

If you're not sure where the main gate of Fort Carson is, please freepmail me.

EAGLES UP!!!

Speaking of Eagles, you need to post this on the Gathering of Eagles web site.

Real Good to be “just” Supporting the Troops and not countering the moonbats.

Try this Gathering of Eagles link. Just like FR, log in with a GoE screen name. Best to use same screen name as on FR.

Once logged in, click Eagle in upper left corner, click "Eagles Nest" and then "newtopic" above list of topics on the left.

I have not mastered the details of using GoE bolding, linking, etc. so you'll be on your own at this point. Unlike FR, I do know that your can edit your own post. Scroll down to bottom and check out options at bottom right of screen.

We use 'trooprally' on GoE also. See you there.

Also, Good Luck.

I’ve mentioned to a few of the soldiers and Marines here (all of whom have fought in the war) that we’re doing this rally, and they are surprised, touched, and grateful. It shames me that they’re surprised—these rallies should be held at every base every weekend as far as I’m concerned.

Just an idea. How about contacting the El Paso County GOP and request that they send out a quick email notice of your rally to everyone on their mailing list.

I sent a link to this thread to 850am KOA talk show hosts Gunny Bob Newman, Mike Rosen and Jon Caldara with a request that they mention this on the air.

Oh my! Those were amazing things to do! I haven't done anything about publicity because I'm not sure how good a turnout we're going to get, and because I don't want to attract any commie-hippie-antiamerican-traitor-peaceniks. My goal is to let the troops know we support them, not to have to deal with the enemy.

But hey, maybe my perspective is wrong, and I'll know how to deal with The Bad People if they show up.

And if we do get a good turnout, and I therefore organize another rally in a month or two, which is my intention, I'll certainly ask you about publicity!

WalMart is a great source for flags. They have a pack with two nice size flags on long sticks for only $1.84 here in Los Angeles.
