Giuliani Reports Over $15 Million in Receipts for First Quarter
Raises More Than $10 Million in Primary Funds During March Alone

New York City – The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee today reported more than $15 million in receipts for the primary during the first quarter.  The Committee raised nearly $14 million in primary election funds with over $11 million cash on hand, the vast majority of which is primary money.  More than $10 million in primary funds was raised in March alone, highlighting a very healthy fundraising pace.  Including the money raised at the one event in December, the Committee has close to $17 million in primary receipts.

Giuliani Campaign Manager Mike DuHaime said, “We are thrilled by the response to Mayor Giuliani’s optimistic vision, experienced leadership and proven record of results. Considering our late start, we are very pleased by the pace raised in March and see it as a positive indication of what’s to come.”

Giuliani’s confidential fundraising strategy was out even before his campaign started—when his staff lost a dossier put together by his chief fundraiser. In the first quarter of 2007, the campaign hopes to report raising $25 million to $30 million, according to the details in the dossier. Despite the gaffe, the former New York City mayor shouldn’t have trouble bringing in enough money to be competitive. New York was the biggest giver of all metropolitan areas in 2006.

Ol' WC was correct as evidenced by those out there collecting money that have absolutely no chance of winning the primary much less the general. But the fools donate anyway..... Ain't freedom to be a fool great?

It was quite known that Mitt would beat Rudy for a long time for TWO Reason:

1. Mitt was able to put some of his own money from his Governor's race just like Hillary did from her Senate race into the coffer.

2. Mitt started earlier than Rudy which gave him a leg up. And Mitt is going to use some of his personal cash to run.
