.....MITRICK SENDS OUT MAILING TO VOTERS, GOP BACKS UP CANDIDATES NIGHT........
Some unusual developments in the GOP contest for county commissioner last week with President Commissioner Lori Mitrick putting out a loud announcement at last Wednesday's commissioners meeting....
A mailing is also out from Mitrick's campaign, reportedly saying taxes really haven't gone up that much in the last seven years.
Mitrick has only been a commissioner for a little more than three years in which many property taxpayers have experienced a 50 percent or more increase in the amount of money they pay in county property tax........
SEVEN CANDIDATES MEANS SOMETHING FISHY GOING ON-REPUBLICANS FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER......
(NEWS ANALYSIS)..........
Back in 1990 I learned something about politics. In a GOP primary race between a veteran Pro-Abortion legislator and a Pro-Life challenger in Lancaster County, a third candidate ran. The objective of the third candidate was to split votes and allow the incumbent to win. It didn't work........
The controversies involving county government make this year's campaign especially difficult for incumbent County Commissioner Lori Mitrick.........
Meanwhile, other GOP public officials (current and former) like Recorder of Deeds Randi Reisinger, Register of Wills Brad Jacobs, Sheriff Bill Hose and others have lined up behind former commissioner Chris Reilly......
This means many of the other candidates (seven in all) for the two GOP slots in the primary on May 15th are there to split anti-eminent domain votes so Mitrick (for it) and Reilly (who is publicly opposing it) can win......
YORK MAYOR RUNS COMMUNITY ACCESS TV STATION......
When the channel was given by Suscom to the City of York, a temporary committee oversaw the station, then control reverted to "city administration" which means that Mayor Johnn Brenner is actually running the public-access ......

My exercise in local news and commentary.
We voted in this latest group who promised to be more conservative and, of course, the lone dem spends and taxes like a drunken sailor, but so does the rino Lori Mitrick. Led by her, taxes have exploded and she's spent three years and millions of dollars trying to take land from its rightful owners to create a park when there are two others within sight of her new one. The latest poll shows over 70% of the folks here want her to mind her own business and forget the stupid park idea. She refuses as she is so much wiser than her stupid constituents. Here's hoping we can put an end to this reign of terror in the upcoming election.
BTW, the lone dem commissioner said with pride when asked about the taking of this land for a park, "I don't understand the big deal. We take over 1000 properties a year due to back taxes and other reasons and no one squawks".
I am concerned that the election is being manipulated to ensure that the Mitrick-Kilgore combination will prevail.
I'm still not sure about Sheriff Hose, who's already backing Reilly.
He should back a second candidate to ensure Mitrick's defeat since she made a false claim about police chiefs having a beef with the sheriff's department last year.
None of the elected officials have put their names behind Chronister and I think that's because he opposed the land grab in the first place. Now Chronister is being blackballed.
All these candidates split the anti-eminent domain vote and that's the way I think the GOP leaders want it.
Put in Reilly and Mitrick while booting Chronister out.
Kilgore should win the Democrat side in the primary, then the general and the 2-1 liberal majority remains in place.
I'm hearing good things about candidate Chuck Richards, who as I noted has no political office-party office ties that I can see. He looks like an outsider.
