Thank you so much for informing me all about this...I would have ignored this VERY important story if it weren't for you!
Aww .. hope you were travelin’ and not sick ... ;) There’s still a little loophole in their negotiations, whereby the Board (for some stupid reason) could still accept another offer, but I pray this is it. Anyone’s better than the Burkle/Clinton cabal.
Hi GANG..I just saw this on The Hotline website...talking about Pres. Bush’s Rose Garden press conference yesterday morning.
Check out the “takes” by the various reporters...oh, no, the media don’t LIE do they?
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
THE REVIEWS ARE IN:
FNC’s Baier: “In a Rose Garden appearance turned news conference, President Bush called congressional Democrats irresponsible, charging that they are more interested in fighting political battles in Washington than providing U.S. troops funding for battles on the front lines” (”Special Report,” 4/3).
CNN’s Henry: “With Vice President Dick Cheney looking on from behind a shrub, the president lambasted Congress for going on spring break before delivering war funding bills which Democrats insist will require that U.S. troops start leaving Iraq” (”AC 360,” 4/3).
MSNBC’s Shuster: “In a sleight at Democratic congressional leaders, the president today repeatedly referred to them as being in the ‘Democrat Party.’ Mr. Bush also labeled the congressional actions on Iraq a ‘political dance,’ and he ridiculed lawmakers for being on vacation. The president starts his vacation tomorrow” (”Hardball,” 4/3).
Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI): “It’s just incredible to me that the president of the United States is planning on vetoing a bill that actually provides the funds that he wants for this next phase of the war. And the reason is, is, that he thinks he shouldn’t have to follow the will of the American people, which was expressed in November, and that is that somehow this war has to start to end” (”Countdown,” MSNBC, 4/3). Bahahahaha!!! Nice catch TS:)
Thanks for finding that.
Qutie amazing.
Good job, Txsleuth! :-)
Good one, sleuth!
I missed the Q&A by the sloppy notetakers at the presser; now we can all read what W actually said, and how petulant and snarky those creeps are. They’re just constantly trying to BE the news.

HI GANG-—This week was a very hard week to judge...no recipes or superfilous chit-chat...everyone had great opinions and well referenced posts.
Thank you all for being patient..but mostly for participating each week...it is a wonderful place to learn and discuss and debate each Sunday.

Snugs will be posting the TOP 3....but, as we all know, her schedule is kind of up in the air, due to her father’s possible surgery today. Sooo...as soon as she has a chance, she will post those awards.
Thank you all for a very fun week!!!

Way to go sleuth great job.!!
LOL....I was telling the truth...I see you post on other threads..and I make sure to read them...very smart guy!!
Thanks rodguy...it wasn’t the longest thread...but it was a hard one to judge, lots of great debates and opinions.
I have a feeling the same subject: Bush’s US attorney firings will be pushed on us again this weekend, even though Gonzo’s Congressional hearing isn’t until April 17th.
The MSM is going to help the Dems keep that non-story on the news as long as possible.
I am curious how much play Nancy Pelosi’s “new Dem foreign policy jaunt” will get tomorrow...methinks not enough.
Wow .. just found my “ping” ... THANK YOU, SLEUTHIE!
Thanks Txsleuth, there are many, many that are much more deserving.
I just had a bad case of mouth runoff, too much coffee and too much time.
Tomorrow is “finish the taxes” day but I plan to lurk a lot.
LOL...I nagged Mr. Sleuth last week to get our taxes done..and so he finally finished them on Wednesday. ( he was SO tired of hearing me complain).
