Honestly guys, I've been watching the fox news coverage of this, and to be honest, it makes me laugh. This is not like your hostage crisis, its completely different.
The Iranians are not going to harm these guys and they are almost certainly going to release them,
While it is mighty tough to fight to the death, it really isn't worth risking your life for in this paticular case.
That said, that doesn't mean I don't favour getting tough with them, because I damn well do.

No one blames soldiers for surrendering. It happens all the time. The problem is that that British authorities were not prepared for this, and evidently are willing to accept the humiliation.
Why do you keep saying they had only pistols, this is not true they also had SA-80 rifles. They should NEVER have been taken so easily in the first place. The Captain of HMS Cornwall should be court marshalled.
Why were Iranian navy vessels armed with machine guns in Iraqi waters not confronted before the incident? I don't want your folks hurt but IMHO you will not get them back following the course of action Britain is on now.
