President George W. Bush addresses the medical personnel of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Friday, March 30, 2007 in Washington, D.C., thanking them for providing extraordinary health care to the people who wear the uniform. President Bush also visited with patients and their family members on his visit to the medical facility.
President Bush speaks at the Red Cross Hall during his visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washignton, Friday, March 30, 2007.
President Bush: Thank you. Please be seated. Thank you all for joining me. Every time I come to Walter Reed my spirits are lifted. They're first lifted by the soldiers and Marines who are recovering from some very tough wounds. I had the honor of pinning the Purple Heart on quite a few people today, and I am always impressed by their resolve and their commitment to the country.
Every time I come to Walter Reed, I'm also impressed by the care givers -- the docs, the nurses, the people who spend many hours trying to heal those who have been wounded in service to our country.

President Bush gestures as he speaks at the Red Cross Hall during his visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, Friday, March 30, 2007.
President Bush: Americans must understand that the problems recently uncovered at Walter Reed were not the problems of medical care. The quality of care at this fantastic facility is great. And it needs to remain that way. Independent analysis have given extremely high marks for the quality of care here. In other words, this isn't my assessment, nor is it the assessment of people I have talked to -- the families -- although that's what they believe. It is also the assessment of a joint commission, which accredits thousands of American hospitals. And this commission has given Walter Reed the highest possible rating, a gold seal of approval. Recently, the commission performed a surprise inspection -- they didn't give a bunch of notice, they showed up and verified the high quality of care here. I want to congratulate you for what you're doing. (Applause.)
The problems at Walter Reed were caused by bureaucratic and administrative failures. The system failed you, and it failed our troops. And we're going to fix it.

I didn't, but I'm not surprised.
The left cannot begin to understand this man. They judge everything based on bill xlinton and his immoral nothingness.
They can't grasp integrity and love, duty and honor, strength and resolve. President Bush is as far from their minds (and souls) as the east is from the west.

I wanted to find a photo from today for the Pray for President Bush thread, so I looked through Yahoo's pictures, and those on the White House site.
I knew this Dose was going to be a winner!

This POTD just hit me in the gut.
Can you imagine how GWB feels knowing that a decision he made means that he is shaking this wonderful soldier's prosthesis instead of the hand he was born with? I prayed for GWB today--it has got to take such an emotional toll--even if the soldiers are as upbeat as the reports we always hear. (Esp when there are those out there who called this visit a political move. GRR)

Yes. There are liberal veterans. Mostly drafted by LBJ, I think. :)
And of course, THEY would get the press while the thousands upon thousands of supporting veterans will be entirely ignored....
