WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A raft of stronger-than-expected U.S. economic reports on Friday, including data on personal income, inflation and manufacturing, buttressed the view that the economy was on solid footing and interest rates were unlikely to fall any time soon.

Personal income rose 0.6 percent in February, below the unrevised 1.0 percent gain for January but double the 0.3 percent increase forecast by analysts in a Reuters poll.

February consumer spending also rose 0.6 percent, outpacing forecasts for a 0.3 percent gain after an unrevised 0.5 percent increase in January, according to Commerce Department data.

That the WH & RNC have not taken credit nor boasted about this robust economy (going on strong for 4 straight years now) is utterly absurd.

And indirectly has cost support for the WOT.

It cannot be repeated enough....because the WH and RNC have got to understand....They are inept when it comes to PR. Be that for the success of the WOT (which is Iraq) to this robust economy.

They must change their whole mind frame of how they handle PR. They must get a renewed sense of urgency. They must understand they need to systematically and relentlessly go on the offensive regarding our successes in the WOT, our need to stay on the offensive in the WOT....and the great success of the American economy today.

They try to talk about the strong economy, but the corrupt, partisan, liberal MSM doesn't report on their statements. We have to talk up the economy more on the web.

Every report the MSM put out regarding the economy is always with a "negative tone" no matter how good the actual data is....(Slowdown fears, fears of slowdown, possible recession?, housing bust, looming slowdown fears etc, etc)....and the WH has never put together an effective campaign touting the success of the economy....thus taking away this line of attack by the MSM.

They would look like fools putting out such headlines if an effective counter information strategy existed from the WH / RNC.

But how can the WH do a counter-strategy when corrupt liberals control the major media companies? The MSM doesn't report on positive statements from the WH. The MSM screens out good news about the economy, but they have to report the key economic statistics and as you noted they do this with a negative spin. I do believe, however, that Americans are very well aware of the good economy because they live in it every day and we don't need as much PR effort on the economy as we need on the WOT.

Some how this will be spun into a recession by Paul Krugman.  How on earth stockholders allow a man that has been consistently wrong for over six straight years, to continue publishing articles in their paper is simply beyond my comprehension.

That the MSM is bias is old news. That cannot be allowed as an excuse for failure. The WH was effective with their messaging for the most part up thru 2004 - Since 2004 they have been inept.

They have failed to even try and make their case on issue after issue. Our soldiers are asked to fight 24/7 in some of the most horrible conditions on earth, that those in the WH and RNC PR staff can't be asked to fight an effective 40 hr work week (because the MSM is bias) is an absolute joke!

The WH and RNC have to find ways, effective ways, systematic ways via the new media, Fox news and 527s to counter the lies and spin from the DEMs/MSM.

Where are the WOT supporting 527s?? How in the hell do none exist 6 years into this WOT (with the realities of how the left/MSM are waging their own PR battles against our efforts) Where are the big money players in the RNC / WH to help create such an WOT supporting 527?

The WH and RNC have served our soldiers incredible poor regarding the PR side of this WOT (of which indirectly the success of the U.S. economy is part of....and taking credit for that success).

There are few professions in this world where you can be wrong all the time and never been fired, like journalists, political analysts, and economic analysts. Now Krugman is not only wrong all the time but he is a left wing hate filled delusional communist lunatic and he should belong to a mental institution not in a newspaper but to be fair to him the New York Times where he writes is filled of left wing hate filled liberals lunatics, so he has good company there.
