Remember those little chocolate disks wrapped in silver foil? We used to call them "a**hole binders." They were a cheap remedy for dysentery.

Yeah. They were highly concentrated as was the cheese and peanut butter. Troops sometimes drink untreated water in the field and end up with the runs. An emergency treatment was to eat the chocolate, cheese, peanut butter and the canned white bread in the C-Rats.
