Seems small compared to what Feinstein just resigned a position over - where is the top of the fold NY Times story on that one?
Look out Rudy Drudge wants you out.
"This is not the Hillary Clinton you're looking for ... Move along."
Does anyone actually buy this paper.
It's no surprise to me. Giuliuliani is a lefty on all important issues and should be a Democrat.
((((((((((((((((( RUDY PING ))))))))))))))))))))
Ask yourself, why is the NYT printing a hit piece on Giuliani? Do you think they want to have a conservative become president?
Clearly they are doing it, because RG is the only one who is a real threat to the Dems and they want to destroy him in the primay, so they won't have to deal with him later.
So -- consider -- do you want to be the unwitting enabler of the Democrats?
"NYT Hit"
Right on Target!
Im pro-choice. Im pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. No, I have not supported that, and I dont see my position on that changing, he responded. Source: CNN.com, Inside Politics Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htmANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)
RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.
GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.
KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.
JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.
KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.
GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.
Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY
Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

Ooops.
The question is whether the "negative ad" will run in primaries.
In an unpublished 1988 interview (quoted by Barrett in Rudy!), Helen Giuliani said of her son: "He only became a Republican after he began to get all these jobs from them. He's definitely not a conservative Republican. He thinks he is, but he isn't."
Expect routine, daily, above the fold hit pieces about EVERY CANDIDATE EXCEPT HILDABEAST
from now until Nov '08
Yawn. This is a big "so what?" story. Like Bush had connections to a company that had connections to Osama Bin Laden.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
BFD. The New York Times has been extremely hostile to Giuliani since the day he first announced he was running for mayor. And once Rudy was elected, the NY Times was against everything he did, from enforcing quality of life laws, to driving porn and prositution from Times Square, cutting taxes, snubbing Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, to driving people off the welfare rolls. Of course there will be some people here who will accuse Giuliani of lying to the grand jury because he couldn't remember something that occurrd six years earlier, yet they will defend Libby to the grave.
bump for later
Can one of you please explain something to me please.
I swear I'm not trying to be a wise ass and I really don't have an agenda, but...
Is the NY Times pro or against Rudy? Half the time I think that they want to see him be the Republican nominee because they think it's a partial victory for liberals if a pro choice, pro gay, pro gun control candidate gets the GOP nomination. Then sometimes, they seem to cringe at the idea of a tax cutting, supply side, Friedmanomics, military hawk ruling for 4 years.
Which is it?
I like to read the Times with a grain of salt. I'm just not sure what their angle is.
